Fishing line strung across Poquoson street injures motorcyclist

Police in Poquoson are looking for someone who may be putting motorcyclists in danger.

Sunday, June 17th around 3:00 p.m. a motorcyclist was riding on the 200 block of Little Florida Avenue when he was struck in the neck by deep sea fishing line. It had apparently been strung across the road, around neck height.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and is currently recovering.

Police say there was another site in the city where the deep sea fishing line was found strung across the highway, but it had been broken, apparently by a car.

Police are looking for any information into this incident. If you have information, please call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

I just returned from a deep sea fishing trip in Florida.  It is incredible the amount of durability an 80 lb test line can endure.  I can't imagine striking that line at highway speed and being able to stay on a bike.  It seems plausible that it could even deeply sever your neck if it were placed at the wrong height.

I can't belive all the bad news coming from Virginia lately, if it isn't the new laws out to screw you, it's some crazed a$$ hole trying to kill a rider. No problem, I'll stay South!!!
