Yeah, I figure if I have a 14 now I am gonna go with a 12 I think. Is this a 12?

Looks like KW beat Trask to their winshield. The KW looks exactly the same and very cool. Thanks for posting !!  :2vrolijk_21:  Doc

Thanks for the pics !  The Trask was more rounded on the sides without the concave areas. I think both will be very popular. Doc

I search the internet for hours during the day when I should be working looking for new products to fit the Road Glide.
Check out Hells Foundry and their headlight trim pieces.

Their pre wired handlebars.

Pro One has really nice speaker grill trim.

I thought of trying these on our fixed fairing.

I got to this thread a little late. Our first run of the road glide windshields were in the 8 inch version. We sold out of the black right away. We have the smoked 8" on hand. Right now our supply is running short on demand. I'm not going to make any excuses. Just trying to keep up and get more inventory.

More 8" shields are on their way and the 12" shields will be also. We are also following them up with shields for the batwing fairing. Working on a few shades of tint right now from black to light smoke. Lots of versions on the way.

Just an FYI, the shields are not Lexan. They are polycarbonate for durability. Only exception is the clear versions are acrylic coated so they can be painted.

The Road Glide windshield does work with the chrome windshield trim. Have pictures they are just not on our website yet. Not pushing it real hard because we don't have a lot of inventory.

To give you an idea on how the 8" shield affects the rider. I am 6'4". The short Harley windshield puts the wind right in my eyes and shakes my sunglasses on my face. With the 8" flare windshield the wind shoots over and no longer shake my glasses. The 12" version is intended to provide some wind deflection for a passenger and deflect road debris.

The 8" version was wind tunnel tested when we were doing streamlining for our Bonneville racer. Long story short the windshield creates a pocket of air the rider sets in . With the 8" flare windshield a road glide fairing has the same drag coefficient with the rider sitting straight up as it does when the rider is crouched down. What does this mean? The air flows over the rider.

The flare windshield also gave us a good increase of down force on the road glide fairing. This is good because in the wind tunnel we found the road glide fairing gains considerable lift at speed, which is bad. When we were at the salt flats last year with our bike we found quite a bit of instability with the stock road glide fairing at high speed. Go figure?!? This year with some aerodynamic changes like the flare windshield we were able to eliminate the instability.

I hope I didn't ramble too much and hope I did answer some of your questions. If you need photos or answers please feel free to contact us at the shop. Mon-Fri 8-5 CST. We can talk to you on the phone or answer your emails.

Thanks

8" Flare on Road Glide.

12" on Road Glide, Rider is 5'9". Shield is below the riders line of sight. 12" was designed to
provide some additional wind deflection for a passenger and provide some protection from road
 debris.

Little bit closer view.

And a front view.

And Yes, the Road Glide trim does fit. This is an 8" shield.

You would think he would have at least taken the blue tape off the windshield trim before he posted a picture on the internet!

 :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

But other than that they look good.

Wonder if it takes 8 weeks to get one like my Clearview?

That's the fairing.  Must have covered it up for the windshield install.
