I got the Klockwerks....... I like the looks..... not the wind. I will replace it with something else.

How tall?

12" Klockwerks arrived here this afternoon.  Haven't ridden with it yet though.

After my first experience and finding that's what they used (and how they used them) I visited the hardware aisle at the local Ace Harware store.  Came home with a dozen #10x32 1/2" wellnuts.  I have a feeling a few will get used/lost/whatever as time passes.

12". I just put my stock windshield back on this past week. MUCH better. I bought it as the "photo" shows the wind stream going around the rider. I thought it would be an improvement for mama and even me as well. Neither was the case for us. She said that no matter where she tried to get, she could not get any relief from the wind buffeting her around.

Maybe I will try the Clearview. does anyone have a picture of the taller on on their bike?

This is a 14" Clearview:

No doubt, shorter shields always look better, but you have to strike a balance between functionality and looks. :nixweiss:

My impression of this Klockwerks 12" was initially barely passable as described previously.  Love the look of it.  But the more I ride behind it the less I like it.  Too noisy and it is windier than you'd like.  Anyone shorter than 5'10" want a discounted windshield?

Impressions?

I posted somewhere in another thread that initially, I don't really notice much difference between this 2" taller and recuved Clearview and the 12" H-D windshield I had on it previously. :nixweiss:  Still get some helmet buffeting, which is what I was trying to get away from and swear I have a draft down my back that wasn't there with the H-D shield (caused by the recurve? :nixweiss:).  So, I'm gonna run it for awhile and then switch it out with the H-D shield again and see what I think then.  Helluva lot of money and a long wait not to be impressed, though. :-\

Think I remember reading that after seeing it again here.  Much the same reaction I had to this Klockwerks thing.  At least no long wait though.  Still a 150 dollar piece of plastic that isn't performing near as described by the mftr or nearly well enough to keep on the bike long term.

When I rented a Road Glide last month the one thing I didn't like about it was the wind buffeting.  I attribute this to the fact the shield is located further forward on a Road Glide fairing vs. the SEEG and that the wind seems to come around the sides more than over the top.  Therefore, that probably explains why the Clearview (or any other shield I know of) does not necessarily perform better unless it is wider as well.  Just my $.02

Pete, I was guessing much the same after have dealt with this side scalloped screen for a few days now.  Even though I like this general look better have pretty well decided that the replacement will not be contoured.  Something really do need to be function over form.

Have about 1200 miles on my Clearview and it works great.
It's a 14" also.
Must be a fuzz shorter than Brian. (maybe 2 fuzzes)
Rode 260 today in the cold a$$ mist and the top of my legs was the only thing cold.
I give it a ---------->  :2vrolijk_21:

Delivery time still sucks!

I'm maybe one fuzz shorter than Brian then.  Have to make a windshield decision sooner rather than later though.  The Klockwerks piece for me just won't cut it for rides of any duration.

I'm in, it will work on R/G #2!

 :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

Ok, you score RG#2 without getting skinned.  If it's still around I'll send it to be tried out.  If it works for you how about 50 cents on the dollar for what I bought it for last week?
