headlite assembly
« on: September 19, 2005, 12:36:46 PM »

Well my headlite assembly  broke loose inside the fairing last week at nite. The top adjuster screw broke off the housing plate causing the headlite to point down and bounce around free in the fairing. And of course extended warrenty does not cover(body parts or hardware) so 200 bucks for the part.. not to mention the labor I will save by doing it myself. I figured it would be a safty issue but it did not sound like it to warrenty. Thanks again extended  warranty!!! [smiley=furious.gif]

The reason I was given that this was not covered is the  headlite ass. is concidered hardware as far as ex. warranty is concerened.you are correct my warranty does say (does not cover hardware)My complaint was since when is a headlight ass. concidered (Hardware)! And they should also list what they concider (Hardware).Next thing they will say is the motor will be (Hardware).

I had a similar problem, the little tit that holds the adjuster on one of the 3 broke.  I tried to super glue the tit back on and it has held up for 15k miles of shaken and baken!!

Unless I am mistaken, you were provided with literature stating what is covered by Extended Service.
