ok, sorry it took so long but I took a picture just now, here it is with another to follow, as you can see - it's awful, one can clearly see the wiring harness and fuel overflow hose  :o ...just unacceptable
Wow, they really dropped the ball on that.... it should have never made it pass final inspection of a hand assembled CVO. :(

The original seat that came with my bike had that gap. Now the new one does not, even sitting on the bike. Take it back for as new seat.  Doc

I asked my dealer to check into it for me. They had heard nothing about replacing issues with the seats. I kind of got the cold shoulder. Any contact # would be appreciated. I would like to hear that it is an official recall item. :nixweiss:

I talked to my dealer about this also. They talked to MoCo and they said they were not aware of a problem w/ seat gap. I went to my dealer, got on their computer, went to cvoharley.com and showed them that a lot of people have had their seats replaced.

They called MoCo back. she talked to a diffrent person the second time, they said they were aware of the problem. They ask the dealer to take some pic`s and send them to MoCo, and they will replace my seat. I will keep you posted about this.

man I feel sorry for some of you guys havin' to have to deal with lazy incompetent Service reps...as mentioned earlier, the MoCo knows the deal, it just may take the right person to answer the phone at MoCo(if your dealer is even calling them) >:(

...now, what I would do is call Customer Service myself (414-343-4056) have your VIN handy, find someone who's aware of the issue and have them call your "worthless rep"(call them that!)...I was dealin' with a gal named Susie yesterday, and she called the dealer right after she hung up with me when I called about my Jiffy Stand, she even called me back and told me "done!"...no pictures had to be presented in either case...

so how's that sayin' go? "If ya want somethin' done right"...

I don't mean to get off topic, but what's this about the jiffy stand?

My replacement seat was installed today, approximately one week after a talked to the warranty guy at my dealership. This is the second 09 SERG seat they have replaced.

I did not take before and after pictures. The old seat gap was 1/8 inch unloaded and expanded to anout 1/4 inch when I sat on the bike. The new one touches the consolle either way.

While talking with the warranty guy, we looked at three SEUGs on the property for either used sales or service (model years 06' - '08). I was quite surprised to see that all three had gaps on about 388 inch or so - similar or worse than what I've seen on this sforum for 09 SERGs. We also noticed smaller gaps on two out of four 08-09 (non-cvo) Road Glides. For whatever reason I have not read or heard about this issue before, but it seems to have been around for a while.

I don't mean to get off topic, but what's this about the jiffy stand?

way too much lean on the early run bikes(like mine)...came out with a new bracket, changin' those out too...there's a thread on it from earlier, can't look it up - goin' out to dinner...starvin'...seeya
