Hello all, my name is Chris, my wife Anne and I live in beautiful Sausalito, Ca. We are on the other end of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.
Now that the kids have all moved out we are riding more and more. Two years ago we rode our '02 Fatboy to Glacier National park on the Canada/Montana boarder. Last year we toured the southwest. We went as far east as Taos NM, again on the Fatboy. We had the full Nelson-Riggs setup, tall bag on the passenger backrest with round case on top, two more round bags on top of our leather saddle bags. This year we are planning a trip across the northern states, coast to coast. We figured it was time to move to a touring model. Harley, that goes without saying, but which bike to get. Sorry you RG guys but can't get used to the fairing not moving with the handle bars. Maybe a SG with a tour-pak, I like that sporty look of the SG. Maybe an UC, it would have everything we want, but the look just isn't quite right. Then we saw a SEUC, that was it! The styling, the ABS, the cruise control, the heated seats! That is one awesome machine! It didn't take a whole lot to get Anne on board with the thought that we needed a forty thousand dollar motorcycle. The only condition was she would get to pick the color, well thats not a problem cuase I would be more than happy with any of the colors!
Last September our local dealer got a Silver SEUC in. We went up to take a look, beautiful bike but by this time Anne was pretty set on the Ruby Red. So I started looking online. I found a dealer down the penninsula who was getting Ruby Red one in the begining of October. The bike actually didn't get there until the end of October but that bike is now sitting in our garage! Paid MSRP+ tax and delivery. We absolutely love the bike.
We have about 2 thousand miles on her. I put the Fullsac 1.75 on, read about them on this site. Put the 6" tinted Windvest on. I had a SSERT installed with basic map from HD. I haven't decided wether to install new head pipe, let the cat out of the bag, or leave it. Once I make that decision I will have it Dyno tuned. Anyway love the site!
