Ordered Rigid Mount Side Plates
« on: August 11, 2009, 03:18:05 AM »

I dont like the backrest/luggage rack options available for the deuce. I just ordered a set of custom side plates so that I can mount a sissybar backrest. Has anyone ever done this?

Will be interested to see pic(s) myself, not much available for the Deuce in the travel bag/gear variety. Kuryakyn has something now that's not permanent, call it "The Grand Tour Bag" . Looks like it might work in addition to the daybag , IF you don't have a passenger......

I just order the Coolsac SAC for the Deuce. I had them custom mfr it to include the rack and backrest pockets.

http://www.coolsac.com/ProductGroup.aspx?category_code=luggage&page=0&product_id=13283&SKU=310-s200Dgrp

I already have the Half SAC that comes through Harley, so this will give me a about twice the cubic inches. The Half SAC will handle one full face helmet and perhaps a shirt, and whatever you can jam into the helmet, but that's it. With the full SAC, I'll be able to fit the helmet, and rain-gear, and a leather jacket, if I want for mid-range travel.  Anything above that I can add the HD Rolling Luggage.

Can you tell me where you ordered the side plates from, and whether there is any way you could use them to locate a luggage rack? I find my Harley OEM rack is all but useless!
