It's been awile since any posts were made here so I thought I would provide some current information for those who are heading to Bike Week.

The AHDRA has moved it's spring kick off from Gainesville to Orlando.

So if you are interested in Harley motorcycle drag racing, come on over and see the top fuel and the Destroyers run.

FWIW: Several Destroyers are seeing the low nines now.

Happy New Year.

The reason as I understand it is financial.

Since 2006 many, many race teams ceased to exist and race equipment and people were laid off like many other industries.

So AHDRA faced with much lower revenue cut their event locations shorter than prior years and tried to negotiate better deals with the remaining locations. Unfortunately Gainesville wouldn't meet the right number and Orlando did--last year and now this year.

Of course the NHRA will be running at Gainesville again this year but the date is still 2 weeks after Bike Week.

I can understand. I used to live up in Baltimore and finally tired of the real cold weather and snow/sleet.

It's nice to be able to take a ride without restyled setting in.  Last weekend was 65 degrees and sunny.

I started going to the races in Daytona after the 24/7 bar scene became tiring. Now I do a little of everything.

Hope to run into you at the races or at ROSSMEYER WORLD!

If you've never seen Harley's races, come on by. Top Fuel bikes doing the 1/4 mile in 6.3 seconds @ 230+ miles per hour. Riding the back tire only for 1200' of the 1320' and the smell of nitro and burning rubber. Lots of stock bikes competing also, just a GREAT time for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
