TCnBham's BSR
« on: February 01, 2011, 01:17:15 PM »

Been here in the deep south for six years...moved from San Diego (via Golden, MO) after 30 years of fun in the sun.  LOVE it here, and thanks to Terry, have been introduced to a whole new experience.  Looking forward to meeting y'all in the up coming months.  SO ready for some good riding weather.  See you in Eureka Springs (one of my favorite places in the world!)  LET'S RIDE!!!    ;D

Does Toby hate you too?  That little chit hated me.....

Don't anymore but used to have a cabin in Golden.  When were you there?  If around at the same time we had to have run in to each other.  I was down toward the lake north of the post office.

Terry tells me you live in Joplin...I lived there for 5 yrs. before moving to Golden.  Used to go camping/fishing at Roaring River every chance we had and fell in love with the area.  The cabin was in a little area of homes..."something" Beach...can't remember the name of it, but it was near Twin Lakes Road.  Lived there until March of 2006.  Miss it so much.  Great area, good people.

PS....Toby LOVES me (I feed him :P)

Here's a pic of me this past Saturday on my first ride...ever!

Too cool.  It's Emerald Beach. Just a bit farther north and up closer to the King River arm of the lake.   Sold the place in 04-ish so we were there at the same time many times.  Probably bumped elbows over at the Piney Creek store or eating at The Office.

So, was it fun?

It was Adrenalina and Nirvana...all wrapped into one!   Terry is a very good driver (will be better once he can get his feet planted flat on the pavement) and I...well, he said I did just fine for a "motorcycle virgin."

No...it wasn't Emerald Beach.  That area was huge.  Ours was east of that with about 25 - 30 homes.   The beach name was made up by someone and so it's not showing on the map.  Would go to the little gas station/market on the corner of 86 and H, but had to do major shopping at Wally World in Berryville.  Breezed into Eureka Springs every chance I got just for the heck of it.

I know where you're talking about.  But don't remember the name of it either.  And killed (and still do) many a late night at Eureka Springs.  It's fun in the day time.  But when you get to know the locals its both fun and interesting later at night.

So, was it fun?

She did fine...we rode out towards 29 Dreams (they've closed, BTW) so that I could get her used to some riding in pastoral areas, then through some curvy stuff on Copperhead Road.  The first good twisty kind of took her breath away a bit, but she settled in and did fine.  Now that I've got the J&M headsets in the Nolan's, things will be better for her.  We did about 130 miles on backroads, a bit on the super slab, then back home.  I wanted to give her a little taste of everything the first trip out.  Like me, her least favorite thing was the interstate, but that was only about 10 miles or so.  She dug it all though... :2vrolijk_21:

That's good to read TC.  Seems that often the first hurdle for a new passenger is just not to be tense and to go with the flow.  Sounds like she's on her way.

Still digging the new bike?
