Wow. Great picture, neglect the rip. Would the beards cause a distraction from the wind, like itch? Glad to see you are still at it.
You could list the do's and don'ts. Al
Al, the rip is for a reason....there was a head there at one time.
Nope, no itch with the wind/beards. I've had a beard ever since I got out of nuclear power plants (moved to ORNL in 1991 and didn't have to wear the respirators as much) so my face was pretty much used to it. That beard covers up a lot of ugly....
As for listing the do's and don'ts of travel....mainly, I've learned to take what you need, not what you
think you will need. There is a Wal-Mart/Harley/Target/Walgreen store everywhere now days so if you forget something, no worries.
I save my old socks/underwear/jeans for my long trips now days. Instead of packing dirty items, I trash the used items daily (socks/underwear) since those were ready for the trash anyway. Saves washing as often (or ever) plus frees up room for items along the way. If there are lots of "purchases" on a long trip, before heading home I box them up (and whatever dirty clothes we do have...Vickie refuses to use my "trashing the underwear'" method...) and send them home via UPS/Fed-EX.
This last long trip, I purchased some plain, cheap (5 for $5) t-shirts for the long riding days and trashed them after each riding day along with the other items. Worked great and I only had to pack a couple good shirts for the rally days....will do that again...
May or may not work for you....just some knowledge from the road that works great for me.....
