2007 vs 2006 differences
« on: July 16, 2006, 10:01:58 AM »

Here is a list of things I picked up on for 2007 model year.  Sorry if others have already commented.
1.  New alarm system will create a major hassle for the service dept.  Unless the fob is within approx 5 feet the bike will automatically arm iteself.
When you fill up with gas and hit the head bike will arm if fob is in your pocket.  When significant other opens the saddle bags guess what will happen.
2.  The new 96 does not require a catalytic device in the muffler
Unfortunately, the CVO still come equipped with one in the 110
3.  The 96 will have 18% more torque in the lower rpm range
4. The only Harley still available with a carburetor is the Buell Blast.
5.The transformation from an 88 to 96 cu inch resulted from using the same or similar stroker design in our 103's
6.  Service intervals are double
7 The 6th  gear is not an overdrive.  Each of the first 5 gears is different from the current tranny.
8. A 6th gear icon will be on the speedo to remind you were your at. This is achieved by sensing engine rpm and mph
9 new final drive carbon fiber reinforced belt
10 vrod gets a 5 gallon tank (can't be retrofit)
11 Stock Exhaust noticably deeper and overall better than 2006
12. digital clock built into the speedo
13. lcd lights replace bulbs in the dash
The big news was the introduction of the 96 mated with the 6 speed.
