Ya I may have exaggerated the 10X, but I was really impressed with it.

In general, I agree it works better than the Dakota...but it is also more sensitive to my proximity to the bike than the Dakota.  Standing to the left side of the bike, next to the fairing introduces the most interference.

Then again, when my ROADY XM receiver is on the AM/FM signal is severly impacted.

so WFP what are you saying if you lean to the left or turn left their is interference? LOL I am getting better reception with this antenna than I got with my whip which had a range of about 25 miles the dakota had a range of about 5 miles I now have a range of about 40 miles. Now I am basing this on I travel between the philly and ny areas daily for work (I live in the philly area travel to ny area for work 50 miles one way) bottom line is I would recommend this product in a heartbeat (inexpensive easy to install)!!!

No, I installed this in my garage and kept the dakota on.  I then switched the antennas and there was a noticible improvement...until I walked around the bike.  As I passed the left side fairing, reception degraded , stayed that way as I was standing on the bike straddling the saddle but then improved as I sat down.  All in all, it is an improvement over the Datkota but it is also more prone to external forces.

That is funny because I felt the my dakota was more prone to outside influence.  Mostly electrical noise, not body position though.
