Hi there,

just got my CVO Breakout last week here in Germany. I installed a KessTech ESM2 Exhaust and wanted to also install a HD Super Tuner.
Now my dealer tells me that there currently is no file from HD to update the Software with the Super Tuner.
Is this the case also in the US? Did someone have a Super Tuner installed on the CVO Breakout?

Cheers

Hello, the HD super tuner will have no problems with connecting on to the breakout the Electronics on ll bikes are the same ,
the problem is your Dealer  . Probably there is no off the shelf fuel mapping available for the KessTech ESM2 exhaust, so he
has to do the tuning on a Dyno or by riding the bike andadjusting the fuelmap / timing etc.
This means that he has to use his brains    :huh2: :idea2: , and this is something that is probably not available in his shop.
Installing an of the shelf mapping is tuning your bike for 90% right, the rest has to be done with "fine tuning" :vrolijk_6:
So it is better to go to a specialist with a "dyno" in his shop who does this for a living, as to go to your dealer who is doing
this once a year and only installs a of the shelf program and tells you it is fine.
You can also chose the Dynojet Powervision tuner there are several dealers in germany see below for the site
when you take this tuner you can install the additional auto tune box and tune your bike "on the fly" every time you change something.

S.E.R.T. # 32109-08C
Updated Map for 2012-2013 CVO Softail
1800 CVO SE A/C & Race Exhaust
Calibration Map # 025CAY004

I loaded this map. It's made for the CVO Breakout.
I'm running V&H 2into1 Big Radius.

Set the Air Fuel to the Gas Table with 26% Ethanol (the 3rd choice in the drop down window)
This will make the A/F Ratio (13.3 to 1) and lower for the higher RPM's) ) most likely going into Open-Loop, but it will run like a Hot Rod should.
No Backfires, No Stutters and No Problems. Lots of low end torque and it will run Cooler.
I made no other changes to this map calibration (025CAY004).

Don't always believe the Dealer. He's probably not looking at the latest version (6.000.0006) of Calibrations for the Harley Pro Super Tuner.

Good Luck,
Garr

Thanks for your comment, the problem I see with this is that I loose my warranty as this is not an "official HD" part.
Unfortunately you are right, my dealer has no Dyno.
I previousely had a CVO Softail Convertible and a CVO StreetGlide, but with Kess Techs ESM2 and the SUper Tuner and yes I agree that this tuning is 90% of a possible 100 but worked for me :)
I hope that my dealer is able to pull an update from HD to get the Super Tuner to work on my BO.
Thanks anyways for the Dynojet Powervision Link - i Might consider this for another bike of mine.

Yes, for sure.
If you lived close to me in Ohio I'd program it for you myself, Free.
All you would need to buy is the Harley Race Tuner #32109-08C.

Hi Garr
I have the KIT EFI Super Tuner Screamin E PN 32109-08c
All I need is the file then I assume, my HD dealer has the software to update.

Do you really need to update the software? I have also a CVO Breakout and have ordered today a Kesstech exhaust ESM2. I have asked the same question and got the answer that I could drive without any modification of the software. I will loose some torque, but the bike had enough of torque.

Other question, why should everyone buy a super tuner? Couldn´t we use it only after making some modifications?

Hi Garr
I have the KIT EFI Super Tuner Screamin E PN 32109-08c
All I need is the file then I assume, my HD dealer has the software to update.

If you do the install yourself you'll need the CD Software HD Part# 32111-13 and the Cable Kit to install on your computer.
If the dealer does it for you he has a different type of computer with the correct cables and Harley gives him the Maps for free.

Ask the Dealer to install,

Updated Map for 2012-2013 CVO Softail
1800 CVO SE A/C & Race Exhaust
"Calibration Map # 025CAY004"
This Map was not on Last Years Software Disk.

It's on Harley's latest Calibration for 2012 & 2013 Maps. Software Disk updated Version# 6.000.0006.
This Update is on the new Software Disk Part #32111-13.

Hope this helps,
Garr

Hi Garr,
great stuff. I will contact my Dealer tomorrow as I will let him do the update.
I assume with this he will be able to get the right Software for my bike (I hope that these files are the same for Germany and not US Only files?!)
Again thanks a million for your help in this matter!

Garr - Can you post a picture or two of your bike with the new pipes? I am considering the same setup but I would love to see it first.

I would if I could, but I can't, so I won't.
Besides.......I installed the Black Ceramic ones. I've been slowly adding Black to replace some of the Chrome.
It gives it some Contrast and Less Attention.
