Checking Compensating Sprocket Nut torque
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:23:03 AM »

Hello all,

I am in the process of changing the primary fluid (removing the primary cover) and decided to check the Compensating Sprocket Nut torque while I am in there.

Can anyone point me to a post on how to check the Compensating Sprocket Nut torque?

I have the manual and have read the section on replacing the Compensating Sprocket Nut but I didn't see anything on checking the torque.

Thanks and ride safe!

Update; Can someone verify if I can try re-torquing the nut to specs without having to remove everything first (I understand to see if the rotor rocks first)?

I understand there are new torque procedures.

Did the 2004 FLHTCSE come with the SE compensator? From the parts diagram the 25T compensator sprocket does not look like the SE one.

Any advantages over the  BDL Compensator and would I stay with the same number of teeth?
