Preventive mechanical parts?
« on: May 03, 2018, 10:08:43 PM »

So I got the 2012 convertible running it only has 10K miles on it but I am wondering if there is anything I should do to it, to prevent future problems.

I am planing on riding to Sturgis this year and dont want any problems along the way so let hear what you guys have as advice!!!

oil relief valve?
lifters?
cam tensioners?

Thanks in advance!!!

Lifters, breathers in the rockerbox, check belt tightness, cam tensioners, change brake and clutch fluids, check fuel pressure, check tire tread depth, check shifter pawl for leaks, check brake pad thickness

Could do a leak down on motor and a compression test with the releases turned off.  fresh plugs - gapped correctly.  drop fluids if you havent put in fresh.

Thanks for the reply, I already did ALL fluids, pads and tires...

I have ordered S&S lifters, cam bearings, Zippers cam tensioners, Axtell Oil Bypass Valve and rocker lockers... that should do me well for 50k miles worry free?!?
