2012 Seat Comfort
« on: July 28, 2011, 07:45:04 AM »

Since a few of you out there have gotten your 2012 street glides already, I have a question for you lucky few.  How do you like the new seats?

The seat seems to be one of the things most people change eventually for a more comfortable one.  How do the new seats feel comfort wise?  Anyone taken a sizeable ride on the new saddle to determine its long range comfort?

Any feedback from passengers would be nice to hear as well.

It's ok. I liked the 2011 SG stock seat more. This one seems to be too thin and you can feel the backbone of the seat.

With the changes made to the 2012 to accommodate the 2 piece seat, I wonder if you can put on a 2011 one piece seat?  Sounds like they might have taken a bit too much padding out of the new one.  :(

It sure looks like you could. I would bet the little chrome strips that the passenger pads sits on would be the only issue

So it doesn't sound like it's going to be a 500-800 mile or a 4 hr. - 6 hr. seat?

I really love the seat on my 2011. I have put over 16000km on it, 6500km in 12 days in June. I did 10 and 14 hour days.....I love it BUT saying that my passanger hates it. Cannot go more than 1 1/2 before we have to stop for a butt break....and I am not talking cigarettes.

I put 800 miles on a stock Sg seat no problem. I can't see doing that on the CVO one. But I could be wrong. It might break in well and be the best seat evah!
