Mine came with the pigtail but my dealer installs them on every bike for free as part of the setup  :2vrolijk_21:

So does my dealer BUT they are now going bankrupt and closing there doors on April 9th. ???

My dealer charged me 5.75 for mine and no labor to install it.  I was looking at my buddy's Road Glide this past week end and it did not come with the pigtail either.  I wonder if some are getting the accessory pigtail mix up with the battery tender pigtail.

FWIW: Set up is a fee that has many components including the pigtail for the battery tender.

insert key, turn ignition switch until "Security Status Indicator" is not showing. (Lights will be on as you disconnect the leads from battery.)

My 2008 Ultra and my 2012 CVO Street Glide both came with the battery tender connector.  I understand that all touring bikes come with this.

My previous bikes (V-Rod and Softail) did not.   

I suspect some dealers add them to bikes to make it easier to keep the battery charged when they sit in the dealer for a month or two.

This is probably part of the confusion.

I checked the owner's manual and based upon what it says I tend to think that the dealers install them.  The manual says "if the motorcycle is to be stored with the battery installed, it will be necessary to connect a battery tender to maintain charge".  This seems to imply that the bike does not come with a battery tender from the factory...

The battery tender itself isn't included, just the pigtail. At least it was on mine but I already had a BT. I didn't see where it mentioned the pigtail was included so I was in the process of adding one...hey where do these wires go....oh kool now I can put the battery compartment back together.

I didn't think mine came with the pigtail either, but I installed my Gerbing pigtail and to my surprise there it was.... all tucked in nice and neat under the seat.
