Title: Ignition (fork lock) switch issues.
Post by: ACfixer on September 19, 2022, 08:16:53 PM
Been a while, hope everyone is well.

2015 RGU.

1. The switch with the chrome cover... the cover will not close. Has a little pin, won't go in all the way? Driving me nuts.

2. Broke the stupid horse collar tab (almost), it's gonna break. I can find aftermarket ones... anywhere online I can get one with the carbon fiber look like stock?

3. I cannot lock my forks, just realized this. I suspect the dealer when I had my running lights installed may have misaligned the switch. HOW DO I GET this stupid switch out? I have the alignment tool coming.

Any help appreciated! I haven't been around on the forum for a bit.... moved to Tennessee. We'll get caught up, nice to see some familiar "faces" still around.

Hahaha well, I just read that thread and it doesn't look like you were ever able to remove the switch were you? And dang I just cannot get that little chrome cover on top of the switch to close. Driving me nuts here. I think I need to remove the switch and realign it I don't know.

My running light switch on the accessory dash quit lighting up, and hence my lights as well... which led me to the horse collar, but then the switch started giving me grief, realized by your thread I didn't need to remove it but it's STILL screwed up somehow. Jeeeze.

I can pm you the removal Harley instructions tomorrow if you don't have them.

Please do! Appreciate your time... I should have the alignment tool in a day or two.

Thank you!

I've done the alignment with a screwdriver before - a little fiddly, but entirely possible.
