OK, I'll try and some Shiner's then today...Which one?

I already have, during my lifetime, drank n peed enough miller, pabst, bud and coors to float the 5th fleet in, so now variety is the game.

Shiner Bock.  The yellow label in the middle.  Have drank the stuff for years - enough for a substantial reservoir of used Shiner.

Not fond of their Guiness knock off.  Not good, IMHO.

Variety....Got tired of Michelob and Amber Bock a few years back after drinking whatever was cheap for years.  Bud Light gives me a headache, not sure why but it always does.  Usually the brand style recommendations I get here & elsewhere are good.  Still traveling/working too much to take the time to brew my own - hat's off to those who do.

Its the rice they use as a cheap source of fermentable sugars, thats why I will never ever drink  Bud products, I've got enough headaches in my life, don't need to self-induce any  ;)

I'll Be working on the second 10 gal. batch of hefe this weekend, I got a great yeast slurry from the first batch, so this one should take off like a rocket and have even a more of the clove & banana flavor profile.

Thanks for the Salute guys  :2vrolijk_21:  Cheers to Beers  :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

heres a couple of small clips from brewing, wish I could add smell too these vid's  :)

It's the rice.  Interesting.  Thanks Eagle1.

Since I learned a new beer fact, today has been a very productive day!

a worldwide shortage of hops, the ingredient responsible for the IPA’s distinct flavor, and other brewing staples means it costs 50 cents more to enjoy a cold one than it did a year ago. :(

Since the government has decided to subsidize biofuels, there is a nationwide movement to produce more alternative fuels, such as biodiesel, made from soybeans, and ethanol, made from corn. With more farmers devoting their fields to corn and soybeans, fewer are growing hops or barley, which has pushed the price of grain up dramatically, The price of grain is up, the price of hops is up, the price of energy is up. All of these factors contribute to the fact that beer is more expensive.  :(

Beer numbers

30.5 gallons: Average amount of beer an American adult drinks in one year.
6.5 billion gallons: Amount of beer Americans consume overall in a year.
5 percent: Average increase in price of beer at a grocery store in the last year.
$28 to $29: Current price that brewers are paying a pound for hops compared with $5 to $8 a pound a year ago.
24th: Illinois’ rank in the country for beer consumption in 2007, consuming 32 gallons per capita in that year.
