Okay Eagle, this is what I ended up doing, some on purpose, some cause I wasn't paying attention and put 60L instead of 40L.

15 Lbs Two row
 1 Lb Munich Dark
 3 Lbs German Wheat
 1/2 Lbs Cara Munich
 1/2 Lbs Crystal 60 L
 1/4 Lbs Aromatic
 1/4 Lbs Chocolate


infusion mash 155 deg  1 hr
batch sparged 2nd mash at 165 for 15 minutes
Fly sparged the rest

boil hops
1 oz Chinook 60 min boil
1 oz Perle 30 min boil
1 oz Perle 15 min boil
1 oz Willamette steep

finally got my scorecards back for the 2008 longshot contest
style 10B american amber

amature judge: scored me a 27
Aroma 6/12   clean, hint of fruit, little malt or hops
Apperance 2/3    white head a little high, amber very clear, little bead, good retention
Flavor 10/20    nice malt base with pleasant subdued hop bitterness balance, hop flavor missing
Mouthfeel 3/5    good full mouthfeel, carbonation too subdued
Overall impression 6/10    slightly off style ( hops low ) + minor flaws ( high head condition ) still a good beer

real judge: scored me a 29
Aroma 6/12    hops dominate cannot detect malt. as it warms faint malt noticable, hops disapate quickly
Apperance 2/3
Flavor 14/20    moderatley low frutiness ( not estery ) hops not noticable in flavor. hop character dissipated quickly
Mouthfeel 2/5    a little watery - smooth finish - not enough hop support or bitterness to properly balance for style
Overall impression 6/10    use more hops!

guess we won't be seeing your beer at Gillette this year.  Damn.  I'd try it anyhow.  Congratulations.  I have a couple scores from competitions I've entered.  I had a raspberry mead that, according to the judges, was 1/2 step above turpentine.  Funny to read the comments.

A lower score doesn't always mean that the beer was bad either, you could get a low score and the beer taste great, but might not follow the guide lines for the style you were trying to make, I had that happen once.
