Doesn't appear we're the classiest drinkers, but what we lack in class, we make up for in VOLUME!! :o :D

Here's a few useless tidbits from American Imbibery History!

Americans prefer mostly beer and hard liquor, going all the way back to our Founding Fathers.

Thomas Jefferson brewed beer in Monticello

George Washington was the largest distiller of Rye Whiskey

As an average, Americans consume 23 Gallons of Beer/Year, over 1 Gallon of Hard Liquor/Year, and only 2 Gallons of Wine/Year

88% of all Wine consumed here is drank by 11% of the population, mostly on both coasts. The rest of the country, as a percentage, mostly drinks Beer and Hard Liquor

HeHe!!! Not a very classy bunch, are we! But we sure do our part!!! Do your share and drink up ya'll!!! ::) ;) :drink: :drink: :drink:

The #'s seem right just not matched to the right item for my use. :)
Mikey's average consumption : Over 23 Gallons of Liquor/Year, over 1 Gallon Beer/Year, 2 Glasses of Wine/Year !

I think we are as classy as any country there is! :drink:

Wow, all the way back to page 113.  That really is back in history.

Hoist, please don't equate wine drinking with class.  There is a lot of Mad Dog and Ripple included in that 88%.  By the way, the M/D winery (Mogen/David) isn't far from me.  In my previous job I had a tour of it.  They do a great job hiding the place.

They don't control any part of the fermentation except for the yeast strain.  They have about a dozen silos outside painted black that are 100,000-150,000 gallons that are used for fermentation.  The product is then fortified to bring the alcohol content up to around 15-18% and flavored.  Every product has a screw cap.

The only way to find the place when I was there was to walk to the front door where the name was silk screened on the glass.  They are part of the international conglomerate Constellation Brands.

WAYYYYYY better then a Friday.  Watching Rudolf with the kids and eating pfferneuse that my wife made!  Ham and all the fixings tomorrow, sleep deprivation planned - no way a 6 and 9 year old will let us sleep in.

Being on the every other year plan has made me appreciate being home tonight.  In fact, time to get off the computer until tomorrow!

Checking on NORAD tracking Santa - was in Eastern Africa last update.

Merry Christmas to all of you.
