I'm speaking/thinking of accidentally rubbing the side of the boot against something and zippers/zipper pull having a sharper edge then leather and causing a scratch. Probability is slim, but the possibility (IMO) might exist to do/cause more damage then leather could. :nixweiss:

Not sure why we'd want an inside zipper. Just something else to scratch up the bike. I've never had a pair of zippered boots but my next pair will be. Per JC's evaluations the SWATs look like the winner. BTW, I've had H.D. boots re-soled.

I've never had a problem with the inside zipper scratching anything on my bike...so far.

I have a girlfriend (friend that's a girl)  that was takin the riders edge class and fell over the first day and the zipper pull stabbed her in the calf, that dang thing was about a inch and a half long, she bled like a stuck pig and they wouldn't let her finish the class.  I told her she need some ridin boots not prancin boots.

We bought these in 8 inch boot because they did not have any swats in my size, very comfy, light, wifey got a free knife for the boot pocket too.

There are several threads on the Oriinal Swat boots on this board....you can do a search.

But to answer your question in short.....the most popular is the Original Swat Classic 9" in black........   http://www.originalswat.com/products.php?category_id=MTA=

They're the lightest boot I've ever picked up (lighter than my tennis shoes) and more comfortable.  Try a pair on and you'll never go ordinary again. :2vrolijk_21:

I returned my SWAT boots because they were to big and was charged a 20% restocking fee.  Because of that I never purchased another pair.

Oh man, that's not good.  Where did you get them?

I did the same thing when I bought my water proof pair (I order two at a time) but they didn't charge me a restock fee.  I got mine from Amazon.com at $85 a pair.......don't remember the name of the company though.  Seems like it was Captain Jacks or something like that.

Because the soles are a much softer compound (better traction and more comfort), the soles will wear out quicker than Vibram soles.  But at that price, you can afford two pair and still not pay as much as other boots. :2vrolijk_21:
