Hello all. Picked up a 2009 FXSTSSE3 Springer on the 17th of last month, slightly used with 2008 miles. Original owner gave it a custom paint job, installed V&H 2-1, windshield, and a sissy bar. He also changed out the stock handlebars with Wild 1 Chubby Springer Drag Bars 0601-0516. Since then I've added an engine guard, helmet lock (installed high up the engine guard behind the forks), Proguards, and a swing arm bag by Boss. Can't find much else to to do it except ride!

Love the bike. Original owner got to ride it 9 times, but his wife didn't like riding pillion on it, so he traded it back in and upgraded to a touring model. I had been shopping for 2 months for which model I wanted, and stumbled on this one evening. Went back in the next morning to pick her up.

I'm happy to see there is a site like this as I've already learned quite a bit about my bike reading through the postings. Glad to be joining ya here on the site.

Thanks again to all for the great start on the site.

I've updated my profile with some information that was lacking before.

I'm located in Vacaville, CA -- between Sacramento and San Francisco for the most part.

I also confirmed today that the replacement handlebars on my bike are the Wild 1 Chubby Springer Drag Bars #0601-0516. Wasn't sure if it was this or the HD street slammers. Actually glad the original owner went with the Wild 1's.

I'll post a new pick of the bike without the wind shield down the road. Planning on running as bare bones as I can most of the time and throw everything on when going on a longer trip.

Thanks for the additional warm welcomes.

Somewhere along the lines, this thread got revived.

Since I posted this thread, I've gone and made quite a few changes. One is that I added a ThunderMax to the springer. All it had when I got it was the dealer stage 1 download and talk about running lean and hot. The only other item on the upgrade list for now is a speedo/tach combo unit, but I am definitely considering changing cams, push rods, and the exhaust.

The other is I added an Ultra Limited to my collection and talk about a cash sink hole

; but at last I have her customized enough to consider her at at a basline - what I would have wanted out the door.

Also on the table for the future is a cam change. I'd like to push the power band down the rpm range a bit.

Other than that, this site rocks, great place to spend time off the ride and great people to spend time with on the ride.
