First year woes
« on: August 24, 2013, 09:19:19 PM »

Owned a 2007, first year of the noisy six speed and 110 that could not keep head gaskets (3-sets), then the engine lost oil pressure and blew up...and we are supposed to be excited about the first year of liquid cooling????????????????????
I will stick with my 2013...

This is a litlle like "I am going to wait to buy an IPhone Untill they perfect it".

I am waiting to get my 14 and if they come up with some great changes for 15 I trade it for the next model.

I rather enjoy riding the upgraded models instead of waiting for ?????

It's only money people.

Don't know about all that but my 2013 with just a tick over 2000 miles is in the shop with the primary coming apart and I'm pretty sure that hasn't been changed in several years.

I remember reading that the new NAV is updateable via the USB port.

Why I will wait.  I have something to ride now that I love. Do like the idea of the water cooling.  But if its a problem I won't get to ride much cause of it sitting in the shop getting fixed.   JMO.

But someone needs to buy them for them to break down and figure out all the bugs.  Just not on my buck.

Todd.

Regarding first year concerns: I have owned a lot of new Harleys. The Evo's had issues with the rocker box gaskets, one I owned had to be rebuilt under warrantee. None were first year EVO's. Now we come to twin cams. Do we remember the cam bearings? Not just a first year issue. The list goes on and on. I really think this 2014 benefits from years and years of upgrades along with problems addressed. Is it perfect?...No. I am sure it is not, I just know that it runs, handles, brakes and provides the most comfort I have experienced from a Harley and I am enjoying it.
