Crashing 2730 at will
« on: October 29, 2006, 04:34:33 PM »

I have been able to force my 2730 to crash and reboot at will...I outsmarted myself.

I decided to re-name the Home Location in Mapsource so that it would always be at the top of the list alphabetically...and to be consistent, I did the same on the 2730.  You know, with 930 HD dealers, Home is pretty far down!

So I used ##Home...well, I tried to navigate home yesterday so I go to my locations/Favorites and select ##Home...and it rebooted.  I repeated this several times.  So I decided to delete the ##Home Location...well I outsmarted myself because guess what, when I selected it under the delete menu...It rebooted also

Since I had ##Home in the "Personal" category, i removed all the others that were in dersonal and then deleted the Personal category...finally, ##Home was gone.

I then readded a new Home Location...

Don't you love when we try to be smart and kick ourselves in the arse instead?  Wish I had a buck for every hour I've ever lost fixing or finding something after suffering some "good idea."  [smiley=drink.gif]

By the way, you still going to get a Zumo when there is supply on the street?  Or going to let someone else guinea pig the unit?

To que up your route home, just push the 'find' button twice and your home route will be calculated.

WFP,
Touch icons: Where To, Go Home (bottom right of screen), then select either; find on map, use current location, or find from menu where you can use the address. Hopefully this will work.

Thanks, I had used the current location one once I was home...did little good 50 miles from home...the trick was finding out how to delete the ##Home entry.

For future reference: To delete a favorite point, like your ##Home. Touch icon: Tools, My Data, Favorites, Edit/Review Favorites, then go to the ##Home and touch the delete icon. Not quite sure of the exact sequence, since my 2730 is in the shop for a software problem, but you get the general idea.
