Just curious, what sort of price are they asking for the Tru Duals?

A friend of mine just ordered a set from Eastern Performance...their Ebay name is easternpc, and their phone number is 410-451-5181. They have them in stock and ready for shipping for $759.95 with free shipping.  That's the best price that I have seen for the '07's...maybe someone else can locate them cheaper?

Might check with www.directparts.com.  That's where I got mine (single bung model 18000242) for $675.95.  That was the best price I found anywhere at the time.  No idea what they're selling the new part number for, though. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Cant tell you where they all went, but a buddy of mine has a direct link into their inventory and it shows them all still back ordered as of yesterday.   Wish I could tell you that they were available through drag, but maybe their receivable process just takes a bit longer than smaller companies.

So thinking of getting some. Stupid question....Can I just bolt them on my 07, without getting air cleaner, SERT, or headers right now? I eventually want ot get all that, and have it dyno'ed, but for now just want the slip on's...either these, or maybe V&H Ovals.
What do you all think?

Awhile back some people were complaining about fitment of the RH what are folks saying now?

How would you compare sound and performance of the V&H TD with Ovals vs the RH rig?

I ordered a set of 2007 Rinehart True Duals part number 1800 0434 from Jonathan at Eastern Performance today - $759.95.  I also ordered a set of performance baffles part number 1861 0314 for $94.95.  Jonathan indicated they will both ship Wednesday (11/15).  I have done business with Jonathan and Eastern in the past with good results.  I already have a Ness Big Sucker I A/C on hand to install.  Now I have to decide what fuel injection module to use.  I have always used a Power Commander in the past.  I don't know of anyone who has any 2007 base maps for the 110 motor with Rineharts/Ness Big Sucker.  I am intrigued by the Thunder Max system.  I am watching the feedback from members who are now installing the system.  We will see...

Lets look first at why people switched from rineharts ... Myself included I went through 7 elbows rear pipes that cracked / broke or completely snapped and cracked through the pipe.

Well, Santa is coming early to my house  [smiley=santa2.gif]  I have a shiney new set of Rineharts coming my way from Eastern...shipped yesterday and should arrive for installation Friday evening and tuning Saturday.  My sweetie, Suzanne...aka HarleyDiva, Bootsie...ordered them as an early present before our trip to Tampa next Wedneday to visit her daughter.  I think she just wanted to help me terrorize her Son-in-Law  ;) ;) and the RH will help do that more effectively... ;D ;D

Now guys...what more could a man ask for than a woman who buys him Rineharts for Christmas, and wants him to have them to show off to his buds down in Florida, so has 'em here early?   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  It just doesn't get any better than that...thanks, baby  :-*

Terry, you can get a head start by getting the stock pipes off of there tonight.  That way, you'll be that much farther ahead, just in case you're feeling a little queasy tomorrow. ;D

Terry,

Every set I have gotten thus far from Bub which is about 5 sets have come with the gaskets in the package.   If they are not there you can go to the Harley dealer and get the SE ones do not use the thick stock ones.

RH's are on the UPS truck for delivery to my house TODAY!!!   [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif] I feel a fever coming on... ;D ;D  Actually, I've been sick for over a week and been at work every day, so they owe me... [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] :P

Also contacted Fuelmoto, where I purchased my PCIIIusb, and they sent me a new MAP to download for the RH's.  I'll still get it tuned properly, but this will at least get me very close.

The Rinehart's have arrived, and Terry has suddenly become ill  ;) and is on his way home from work.   [smiley=banana.gif]
The doctor said the best cure for his illness would be to install the Rinehart's tonight.   [smiley=drink.gif]

Well the arrived ... Outside the Window I paid for but they are here.

Both sets are in the house, now to have the dealer install them tomorrow I have a 2 pm appointment for the pipes, the race tuner, and the air breather setup.   Yes I can do it, Yes I should do it, but I want them to after they agreed to stand behind it if they put em on / set it up.  I feel its a better paper trail and warranty saving event vs. saving the 200 bucks doing it myself.

Diva get some candid shots of him working on it for us .. I am sure they will fall into the realm of priceless as he continues through this project.    Especially once he gets to number 3 or 4 of the drinks.....

Diva, it's been a couple hours since your last post, so we're looking for a cuss word/Modelo count here.  What 4-letter words have been used and how many times and how many bottles of anti-donkey pi$$ have been consumed?

OK, guys....got the RH's installed after only three Modelo's, but that's only because I quit when I knew I was ahead.  Had to make a run to Lowes for some of the red silicone they suggest in the instructions, plus a man's got to eat sometime and not just have  [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]  Like most exhaust system removal/installations (2 or 4 wheels) it was aggravating, and did involve a good amount of cussing and frustration.  The RH's are high quality, and the instructions are good, though a couple of the pics they provide could be a little clearer regarding heat shield clamp orientation.  No problems though.  I didn't finish until two in the morning, by the time I got them all wiped down after finishing and a coat of Glare on all the new shiney parts.  Probably the most aggraving couple of things was gettng the front heat shield clamps on and started, and fit of the mufflers to the headers is so snug they had to be pursuaded with a block of soft wood on the ends and a ball peen hammer.  They'll go right on then... ;)

The pipes look GREAT on the scoot, and sound even better!!! [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]  I dumped a canned map I got from fuel moto into the PCIII, fired it up this morning and ran 45 miles North to a tuner/performance shop I've finally found.  It was running rich, but running strong and sounding even better.  On the way up, two bolts on my A/C broke off, so the guys at Rod's Performance had to  back one of the remnants out with vice grips, then drill and use an ease-out on the other one.  Another one chalked up to HD service overtightening the bolts.  Rod tuned the bike...he has a great dyno set-up, with a specially designed room with 6 air changes a minute so everything remains constant and there is a lot of fresh air to keep the bike cool (also uses fans on the motor).  He did an advanced tune with the Dynojet TL software, one cylinder at at time.  The target A/F ratio was 13.4, steady throttle, so it vairies a couple of tenths, depending on load/throttle postition.  I was in the room the whole time, so watched the entire process, and Rod was great about explaining what was going on and showing me the data as it was happening.

Final numbers are about what I expected: 98.4 Max Torque....75 at 2.5K, then climbing steadily, with no dips to 3600, then hitting the 98 mark and staying there to 4.5K, tapering off gradually to about 85ft lbs at 5800.  HP is 95.6 at 5800, with just basically a steady climb from 2.5K all the way up.  I'll try and get a flatbed scan of the sheet, if I can figure out how to use my flatbed again.

I'm really happy with the pipes, the way they sound, and the way the bike drives now that it's finally been properly tuned.  I'm tired and sore from being on the basement floor all night, I think I'll take Diva out to dinner and a couple of Magahooties....

Hey, Terry, tried calling you an hour or so ago to see WTF was going on!  Glad to hear you got the pipes installed and the motor tuned to your satisfaction!  IMHO, nothin' sounds better on one of these strokers than a set of Rinehart true duals!

Your numbers are about what any bike with the stock cams/heads will run.  Now, just wait until next Xmas when you get those Zipper's 575s installed!  Whoo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

In the meantime, you and Suzanne enjoy those well-deserved Margahooties!!!  [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Yea, Gary...I'm all stove up today and I don't even have arthur....I wore my body out in my younger years working on cars, carpet/tile, then HVAC for a lot of years, so crawling around on the floor takes a bit of a toll on me the next day.

But, it was all worth it, and I know they were installed correctly.  Love the sound!!!

Terry, great to hear you got the Reinharts on w/o any serious problems and I know you'll be happy w/ them.  (side note: I'd be happy w/ mine if they'd ever send me the replacement pipe from Calif........been waiting for over a month now......aaaarrrgh!)  But, when they're whole, they're great. Enjoy your trip down to Fla. and tell Jorge hello for me.  And, Bootsy, thanks for the great pics of the Reinharts install.  Good to see Terry's happy face again.  :) har!  [smiley=drink.gif] spyder

Terry,
How did the install of the PCIII go? I see it mounted in one of the pictures, easier to fit then on the V? Did Jamie have it preloaded for you?

Ed...I already had the PCIII on there with a map for the SE pipes I had, but got Jamie to send me a map for the RH's and loaded that to get me to the tuner.  The map he sent would work, but just like the other one for the SE pipes, it was too rich.  On the Vrod, with tighter clearances in the engine, there is probably not as much variance in the tuning parameters between bikes, but on the Vtwins I am of the opinion (now) that a "borrowed" or "canned" map will get you close, but no cigars.

Installing the PC on the Ultra took all of 20 minutes...very easy.  Lots of room...my V needs one, but that will be in a month or two.  This tuner I've found is a good one...talked to several other people today about him, and he's got a good reputation.

Hi Terry.  Really enjoyed the story of your new pipes.  Great photos Suzanne.  Glad you got 'em on and all is good.  Lots of parts in those pix.  Didn't have any left over I hope.  Finally got a chance to ride my new B&O Jester but only about 60 miles since I had class this weekend.  Like it real well but may have to see about upgrades down the road.  Plz let me know who did your PC tuning either on the board or by pm when you can.  I need to check to see if Brian here at Bumpus can do PC as well as SERT (doubt it thought).  I've had both and the PC is cheaper and does not leave a trail if you know what I mean.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hi Rob...we'll be down Wed, do Turkey Day with Suzanne's daughter and Soninlaw, then Friday down to West Palm to spend the night with Jorge and Martha and do a little riding.  Then back up to Tampa (actually, it's Land O Lakes) on Saturday to spend Saturday evening with her daughter again.  Will probably head back this way sometime Sunday and maybe spend the night somewhere on the way, then back home on Monday.  Let me know if there's a way for us to hook up for a bite to eat or something.

I'm VERY impressed with the RH's!!!  Rode some twisties on the way out to 29 Dreams (a motorcycle resort/lodge/bar/eating establishment), so was able to do some downshifting/upshifting coming out of the turns, and the power/torque is really there now.  No popping on decel, and just gobs of power through and out of the turns and the short straightaways.  Cruising, they are not really that much louder than my SE muffs....on a scale of 1 to 10, with stock being 1 and straight pipes being 10, the SE's were probably a 4 or 5, and the RH's are about 6 or 7.  The sound is there when you romp, but fine at steady throttle positions.  I really like 'em!!

Will [highlight]probably head back this way sometime Sunday[/highlight] and maybe spend the night somewhere on the way, then back home on Monday.  Let me know if there's a way for us to hook up for a bite to eat or something.

Man... I probably won't be home until about 2pm Sunday afternoon. Maybe next time or when I ride up your way!

Got my replacement Reinhart rear cylinder pipe today.  It's now on the scooter...what a hassle.  Can anyone that's gotten the TrueDual Reinharts lately tell me......are all the mounting brackets that go to the starter black or do they make 'um in chrome also?  I thought I remembered someone saying earlier in one of the threads that they come in chrome.  It would surely look better.  Huh, D00d?  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] har!  spyder

Spyder, mine's black.  Might chrome it this winter, though, if I get to tired of looking at it.

I can't take mine off long enough down here in NC to do that......but, if I could score a spare.... ::)...hmmmmmmm.   [smiley=drink.gif] spyder

They only come in black, as far as I know.  An extra to get chromed would be nice.  The thing would be simple to make, if one had it off the bike.  Wonder if they will sell that piece by itself?  This is an OCD item worth pursuing...BUT, it would make the damn black starter stand out that much more like a sore thumb, so that would have to be chrome as well........then the neutral switch, Oil Filler cover....it would never end....

You're retired, Spydy...why don't you check on that for all of us OCD/AR folks?   [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] I'll buy you a beer next time I see you.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
