Rev Performance 4.25" Cylinders
« on: November 23, 2013, 09:44:05 AM »

I'm looking to see who personally has experience with Rev Performance 4.25" cylinders.  I'm looking into building a 131" motor with their cylinders, but want to get down to the facts.  I've read the issues with head gaskets prior to their redesign and issues with oil consumption.  Rev Performance claims it was due to lack of proper cleaning on the installers part.  LBP keeps in touch with others in the industry, and says that there are a couple that are having great success with the 4.25" cylinders.

With all this said, who has had any experiences with the 4.25" cylinders?  If not, how about the 4.125" cylinders?

Call Mark Boler at Oasis Cycles in Brandon, Ms. at 601-824-4893. He has done several builds with them and he could tell you about them.

We have done them and are one of the victims of multiple head gasket failures. Once rev perf and cometic got together and revised the head gaskets they have been solid. Personally I think that the 4.25" bore is too big for the stock stud pattern. I'd stick with the 4.125", you'll have much better longevity.

I used them on a 4" stroke 88" to make it a 114". Ran good and never a problem with base gaskets or head gaskets.
Still have the jugs, pistons and super cast heads along with a custom intake manifold and bored super G and Redshift 647 cams.
Gonna make somebody a good deal one day ;D
