2015 fltruse with 16,5xx started making noise. It’s at the dealer for lifters, cams bearings and oil pump. Covered by esp. another rider brought his in the next day with almost the same mileage for the the exact problem, except he kept riding his until it grenaded.

Hello Guys, just wondering how many 110's are stock or maybe stage one modified that are still running well with 25K miles or more on them. I have complained about my lifters ticking at 3 thousand RPM and initially the fifth gear wine. At this point the fifth gear wine seems to be getting less and less Any other engine noises are the same as when it was new. I don't want to take my bike in and have the cam bearings, lifters etc replaced if not needed. I have extended my warranty to 2020 so if the engine goes out I will be covered. For the record my motor runs great except for the lifter noise at 3K. Also I would like to mention that on cold start up the engine is quiet (no lifter noise).  I am only at 22k on my 09. I missed a year because of back surgery. Most of my rides are long distance. I drive it locally twice a month just for kicks. All feedback will help me decide if I need to be proactive regarding lifters and cam bearings. Thanks in advance.CAHDBIKER
I had a 2016 with the 110, every 20 to 22 thousand miles I had to replace the lifters.  Pretty common with everyone hat I know around here that had 110's.  I now have a 117 so not sure how the lifters will be.

I have a 2010 CVO Ultra that I bought used three years ago, then it had 8,200 miles, now it has 56,000.  No engine issues to date.

Kind of reluctant to say that because we have a four day trip this weekend.

Original owner, just went over 53K miles on stock 2014 CVO Limited; in the shop, lifters failing (caught before catastrophic failure), luckily still covered by ESP.  Should I upgrade to 117 (Stage IV bolt in), or go with stock parts? Still have 1.5 years remaining on ESP. Thanks.

I sure would not go with stock lifters.  I would use S&S premium, woods Alpha or such.  Maybe even switch to beehive valve springs to lower pressure on lifters.

Going to 117 depends on if you want to keep warranty or not.  I would not so HD kit for the 117, many better options for 117 out there.

I had a lifter fail at 150,000 on 2010 decided to replace with a 120 just past 170,000 now. Looking back I would have replaced the lifters around 100,000 but who knows the future.

35k on 08 springer, I just had cams and lifters changed out for piece of mind. The chain tensioner had some slight wear besides that all looked good.

Bumping up for my post.2012 SG. with 25.500.Justa ticking away.Never touched.Runs great.
From reading every post.I bet more issue's happen when you ride h-way for extended trips beyond 150 high rev miles at a steady rate oppose to shorter quickey trips?
After a huge depreciation fallout recently.A sell before fix has to be decided.
Curious on best replacement cam chest kit?

2008 Springer
65K everything good
Compensator changed for A recall but everything else is OG!

Secret is to Ride Hard! 2 speeds ON and off.
And... Don't f$%*ing try and get more power... you are killing the engine.

I always enjoyed chitting on all the 750 and 1000 bikes on my little CBR600... Skill counts for a lot. On these bikes with the 131 engines installed....
