Part One:

OK, I learned the hard way with my Road King that you don't always have the luxury of a towel to put a removed saddlebag on...so after scratching the bottom of the bags, I was not going to make the same mistake.

i like the idea on the saddlebags, i'll do the same to my road king always worried about scratching them, when i take them off.  as for the tool bag, my first thought is "tacky" but i cant see the whole picture, you have intentionally made it the foucus of the picture. do you have a pic that shows the pouch and the entire bike?

I think that both are great ideas and look fine.

WFP, sick minds think alike !  I did the same thing on my SEEG but used the loop part (soft, fuzzy half) of a piece of black Velcro.  For each bag I cut four pieces about one inch square and put one piece on each corner of the bag.  If you're looking for them, you can see them on the right bag when the bike's on the jiffy stand because that bag is tilted upward, but the black color blends in well and isn't too noticeable.

Both look great, I have been caught without noght glasses at Sturgis before, I think it was 1994, leaving Sturgis to ride back to Custer for the night it was 39 in Hill City at 10:00 PM, by morning they had 4-5" of snow. Not fun with no eye protection at 39 degrees. Great idea on the clear feet.. Gonna do the same

Good Idea with the black velcro...I put eight of the feet on each bag since there were 16 in the package.  I like backups and redundancy anyways...if one or two fall off without my knowledge, I should still have enough to keep the paint off the ground.  Can't see them at all, I was on the garage floor taking the pic.

I like the idea of the feet on the saddle bags not so much for me but for the guys at the shop who alway just set the saddle bag on the shop floor.  Thanks for the tip.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

is there any chance of that front pouch vibrating against the frame and wearing through the paint?

It could rub but if it looks like it will I could put some clear plastic on the frame right behind it....maybe move that stupid warning label that is currently below it

I thought about the riser above the headlight but the chrome would definately rub up there...

i mounted mine on the risers, instead of using leather straps i used those plastic locking cable ties, if the chrome does rub, it would be alot cheaper and eaiser to replace a riser than to repaint your frame....

Because of the Tach, it sits on the headlamp when mounted there...

may have to re-think the whole thing...now you have me worried about the painted frame!

Would the bag have any influece on engine cooling.

Saddlebags - great idea. I will borrow that myself.  Tool pouch - don't know.
