I'm still not buying the story about being a Harley employee with insider info, from a guy who has to come on this site to ask us "Does the 2012 SESG come with the Smart Siren II that works with the pager?" along with other product info questions a real Harley employee could get answered by dialing the extension for the CVO department down the hall.
Anyhow, for those who think there is some sort of a limit on how many years they can or will run one model, check out the FLHTCUSE
7, soon to be 8 I'm sure. Harley abandoned the true spirit of the original CVO program (an idea borrowed from the Ford SVO program) many years ago. It's not about a small skunk works type of operation anymore, it's about a highly profitable option package with higher and higher volumes. So I don't really forsee a $25-30k CVO Sportster, since that would probably generate about 50 sales in the USA. I also don't forsee more Dyna or V-Rod CVO's that dealers can't sell any better than the last one's they offered. Could try another CVO Fatboy I suppose, those seemed to go over pretty well. But the volume and thus the big profits is in the Touring line, and I truly believe they will continue to offer multiple models within that line. If they decide to eliminate either the SESG or SERG next year, I think they will replace it with a $60k CVO Trike. Talk about some heavy duty profits. And they will market it to those rich retiree's who will just love to have a fancy Harley they can park next to their tricked out custom golf cart at the retirement village.
Oh, btw, since the world wide web is pretty much an anonymous place where we can be whatever or whoever we claim we are, I've decided I'm also a Harley employee. I'm in the Public Relations office HF, stop by some day and we'll do lunch.

PS: I really don't give a chit about this since I have no intention of buying another Harley, but I'd hate to ignore the thread and miss out on all the speculation and general BS. This is almost as much fun as watching the bachelorette or any of those other highly contrived "reality" shows.
