I posted this in a previous thread but I thought I would open another and share again so it wouldn't get missed...After converting my Tour Pack to a quick detach I was stuck with putting the stock amp into the right saddle bag...Not only did it take up valuable space there but it got extremely hot with no air circulating around it...I saw another post where a guy had mounted it down between the rear wheel and saddle bag. Using the pictures he sent me and after a little finagling I came up with this very easy solution...Two short pieces of 1/8"x 1" alum with a hole drilled in each end bolted to the fender filler mounting tabs and voila my Amp is now out of the way..The cable is just long enough to reroute it and still plug it in with no problem. Theres about 1/4" clearance between the amp and the brake rotor and plenty of room every where else.

Nice job ..........Very clever. Makes cleaning the already difficult to get at rear wheel more of a challenge ::)! However, you've the larger 18" 2011 wheels w/low profile tires which are a bit easier to access and clean than the new 2015 FLTRUSE 16" rears w/fatter tires ;D!

Actually the amp is not in the way at all. With the bag on you cant even see it..I have an easy up center stand installed and with a little piece of 1/2" plywood under it I can lift the bike up enough that i can rotate the rear wheel freely for cleaning...I can also grab the front fender and with very little effort the bike will tilt back and I can rotate the front wheel too.

I'm looking into ur mod and I have to say ur taking a big chance. It looks very dangerous. It can lock up ur rear wheel. I've been a sheetmetal worker for the past 25 years. The 1" alu strip is only holding the amp in place, its not locking the amp in place.
The amp is way too close to the rear brake. Bumps on the road can cause the alu to flex, and get in the way of the rear tire. It looks like you had to change the hardware, because the hex bolt head looks like it would almost be 3/8" in the way forcing the amp closer too the the rear wheel. I could be wrong but just be careful. Check and see if you push the amp, does it move? You might have to secure the amp with 4 bolts, not just 2. Alan

Oh It's solid don't worry. There is also a bracket bolted from the rear filler mounting bolt holding it that can't be seen in those pics...I'm a Journeyman Tool and Die maker with 35 yrs experience in CNC and fabricating...I appreciate your concern though it's good lookin out for each other.

Curious to know what center stand you installed popsracing. The only P&A Harley center stand #91573-09A excludes our FLTRUSE model. Looking for a center stand which allow for easier cleaning of the bike while on a road trip ........and which wouldn't interfere with cornering angles.

The amp was originally mounted under the tour pack. It gets wet there also.

I believe the one he is using is called EZ-Up. It's an aftermarket product offered by Wheel Dock.

Be aware that as designed it does not lift the rear wheel off the ground. To do that, you will need to place a board or other similar item under the feet of the stand to elevate the rear wheel.

I have a EZ up center stand. I like it a lot but it will drag in the turns if you get a little aggressive.
I've been thinking about making my tourpak removable. I like your amp relocation a lot. I didn't want to put it in the saddlebag.

Yea its the EZ-Up stand..I have a piece of 1/2 plywood I set under it when I want to lift the wheels up off the ground...the rear wheel will spin freely and with just a little lift on the front fender the bike will rock back and I can then rotate the front tire...The stand clears my Fullsac DX full dia. cross over pipe and I've never had it hit while cornering yet...I did bottom out on one of the tank filler covers at a gas station once, some of those covers stick up kinda high.

I know it's a old post do you a picture of 3rd bracket?
