Title: HOW IS THE FATBOY SE PAINTED?
Post by: OZCVO on July 10, 2022, 03:22:07 AM
Greetings, I've purchased a Fatboy SE with the Autumn Haze/Abyss Blue paint. Wow what a paint job. I run my open hand over the tank decal and flames and I'd swear it's hand painted with clear over. The paint is noticeably "thick". It feels great.

Any comments on the paint process on the 2006 FB CVO's.

No different than any other multi-color refinish. Do all your bases then multiple layers of Clearcoat to allow sand/buff finish.

Yes I was thinking that but the surface feels like some part of the process eg. the flame edges, have been hand painted following a stencil.

You think it's all spray gun? It's just a thought on how far the CVO custom actually goes.

This pic shows the text is quite raised. Open up the pic and it's quite noticeable. Is the text and all the flames etc stickered on and glossed over?
