Hello from Frozen Northern Virginia
« on: February 14, 2007, 05:41:47 PM »

Hoist suggested I post here to introduce myself.

I am the proud new owner (6 months) of a Cobalt Blue 07 SERK.  I found this site while trying to research the "perfect" combination of pipes, tuner, AC, etc. to upgrade the new 110.  I have read a lot of the related threads already but would be very anxious to hear reports, suggestions or recommendations related to those upgrades.  There does not seem to be a lot of proven info out there yet and I would rather not pay to be the guinea pig.  Hoping to get the work done before the Spring rush.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and for warmer weather.

Yeah baby! Nice ride another SERK. I got the Black Ice. Basically there are 2 things that are must do, ASAP. Since we already have a SE A/C (which you can get a K&N P/N HD-0880 to replace the HD filter), you're OK there. Exhaust system and ECM remap are a must. Exhaust is such a personal thing and it's difficult to listen to them on a 110". So, you have to listen to sound bytes for the ones you can't hear in person. But any performance exhaust that makes you happy will do! The ECM Mod basically boils down to 3 reliable, effective solutions. Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (SERT), Dynojet Power Commander (PC III USB), and the Thundermax w/AutoTune complete ECM replacement. I'm using V&H True Dual headpipes with S&S SPO mufflers for exhaust and the PC for my ECM mod. All of this is covered in various locations here. Use the "Search" tool on top for this. Loads of info here. I also chose to replace my A/C assembly with a high performance Doherty PowerPacc as well.

Hope this helps BF. Again, welcome to the site. Enjoy it and best of luck with your new ride!

Doug,
Welcome to the site.  Great place to learn and spend $$ :).  I'm in Woodbridge.  Several folks on this site from Virginia.  Watch out for Howie - he'll have you making lists and figuring out all kinds of ways to spend your money  ;D, but you've probably already figured out he knows what he's doing.
I'm one of the unfortunate folk that's impacted by the strike.  My B&O CUSE2 was supposed to ship 2 March.  So my Hoist inspired list is gathering dust at this point... >:(.
Anyway, I'm convinced the contributors to this site have seen and/or done it all and as a collective can answer just about any questions you come up with.
We'll have to get together soon.  PM me with some vitals and we'll connect.

Welcome to the site, always great to see yet another SERK pilot sign onboard!  :2vrolijk_21: Nice looking ride!

Lots of help in upgrading your ride performance wise to what it should have been leaving the MOCO; and of course the usual bling-bling gear.

Welcome to CVO site

What's your thoughts for Exhaust and such, I am sure guys will let you know if it works well with the new 110" I prefer Freedom Exhaust
The big thing about owning your own HD is it is your HD and you should make the changes that you so like, if that makes sense

BlueFlames,
Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: That is a nice looking SERK you have there. Several members from the site are from Virginia and hopefully when weather permits we can get together and do some riding. In regards to pipes for your bike that's going to be a personal preference thing. You will need to find the pipes that you like the look and sound of. Most of the choices out there will be close in performance. In regards to A/C it's already been mentioned that you have the free flowing backplate so you are set there, and you could go with the K&N filter if you wanted. In regards to the tuner (SERT/PC/Thundermax) I would suggest if you're not going to be doing the install for yourself you talk to the mechanic that will be, and find out what he's most comfortable with. Most likely whatever he's most comfortable with will be what he's most proficient with and will get you the best tune out of. If you plan on install/tuning it yourself from what I understand going w/the Thundermax w/Auto Tune is going to be the easiest to tune w/o having it put on the dyno. With this package Zippers will send you a base map established for your motor (110ci), A/C, and the pipes you've installed. After that the auto-tune will self tune itself according to the settings you want.

Doug; Welcome from even more frozen NJ. I also have a serk that is undergoing some mods this week. I'm going with
vance and hines dresser dual headers, vance and hines ovals, K&N hd800, and a sert with dyno before and after. I should be able to let you know how it works out next week. Good luck with your Serk. :2vrolijk_21:
