I saw the 1/26 reveal and researched the new 2022 CVOs.  I have a 2021 CVO Road Glide (and have owned 2 previous CVOs)...my thoughts

While the 2022 paint looks nice, I don't see any real upgrade from 2021...and I have never heard of the $3K bump for a specific color.  WTH are we paying top dollar for a "Custom Vehicle" to then have to spend an additional $3K for color option?
Now, the 117 engine option is available in 3 other models so that kind of waters down a value point for the CVO...why didn't they bump the CVO to 122?
I see no difference in other options for the 2022 (vs 2021), other than it costs more

My only thought from a business perspective: this is going to be "down" year for the CVO and I would image the 3 new "ST" models will sell very well.  Next year, we will hopefully see the STs return (with no real changes) but something on the larger scale for the CVOs.

HD is waiting for the 120th anniversary to bring out any substantive changes. This is a rehash year to empty parts inventory.  Just my wild ass guess.

I agree with you on the $3k paint upcharge. Special paint is supposed to be part of the CVO package.
That being said, I disagree with you on the projected CVO Sales. I think they are going to sell Very well this year.
I personally am going to buy one just as soon as I can.

2022 CVO paint is an improvement - such as it is - over recent year CVO paint options.  Nothing else for 2022 except new paint does not seem to be a major sales driver unless somebody was already looking to get a new year model.

2023 will be interesting to see what they do to the ST lineup & what tech upgrades (if any) HD will offer on all bikes  HD is lagging behind their competition on tech features, but that is not new.  In more recent years they are a market follower, not a leader when it comes to innovation. Seems to me they are further behind now on that in past years, & that is why I think 2023 will be interesting for "new to HD" but not new to the MC industry items.

Paint, wheels, power locks, upgraded stereo, cover to name a few things but it's still hard to justify the extra $15k.

Just think what one could do with the 15k customizing their Road Glide ST with aftermarket (dependable) accessories. Probably would come out with a better bike in the end.

Maybe with the missing CVO Limited you'll see a late production model with the 122  ...(Pure Speculation)!

That 120 is a TC. A TC hasn't been installed in a bike  since 2016 in the touring lineup.
