Will the new software be compatible with the older ecm's?

Yes, the new software will work back to the first version ThunderMax.  However, older sotware versions won't support the features of newer ThunderMax modules, so you should always update to the latest software whenever possible.  We are in the process of building a new ThunderMax-specific web site now ( www.thunder-max.com ) where you will be able to download the latest software version.  The coming SmartLink IV software also has a "SmartLink Update" button that will check for and download any newer software version available if your computer is internet connected.  You will also be able to update any new map definitions and download new maps as we post them.  Should be finished within the next 30 days.  Thanks, JK
