Heated grips don't work, seized up
« on: April 19, 2019, 03:41:40 PM »

I have an 06 Electra glide cvo with the stock heated grips. They don't work, seized up I can't get the dial to move. I was wondering if I buy new Harley ones if I can splice into the wires and put new ones on without taking apart the fairing and all that. Any ideas on that or anybody else have that problem? Thanks

Not sure but if not maybe you can pull the new wires with the old ones.

Here is a good vid but it's for Rushmore Bikes.  The reason I post it is that he uses some braided sheathing similar to a "Chinese Finger Trap" to pull the wires easily through the tubes.   We used to use a similar device to install rear main seals in small block chevys without removing the crank.   It was called a 'Sneaky Pete.'   Makes it look pretty easy...
