I’m considering purchasing a new 2023 CVO Road Glide and am curious what actual purchase prices have been and deals negotiated, either color.

If you are willing to share any details I would appreciate it, like out the door price, any parts or extended warranty or dealer maintenance discounts.

I went into a KY dealership yesterday and a young sales person tried to convince me that their CVO Road Glides in Platinum color were leaving the floor for $60k. I just can’t believe that……

I can't believe that either. There are Platinums sitting on every dealership floor Iv'e been in recently. The Whisky Neats may be another story. I Never see those available.

5 platinum CVO Road Glides at one of my local dealers.

I did see the whiskey neat street glide at Myrtle Beach HD last month.  Sales guy offered to order me the Road Glide.

I paid less than that for my Whiskey Neat Road Glide, a lot less.

I just happened to be in a couple dealerships the other day and noticed the huge price difference in 30 miles apart!

My buddy is looking at the other color SG.
He has the $$ but I pointed out to him he has a SG special 2022. It’s set up the way he rides but it’s “all black”… no fancy paint.
One of our friends does custom paint, he did my truck and my green bike. Why not get him to paint his the same color as the whiskey?  Probably get it done for $10-15k I bet!

Wow, a 10,000 dealer markup.  That's nuts.  I would not give any thing over MSRP.  Never have for anything I own.

Rockstar HD in Fort Myers FL has several in both colors. I bought mine there and they were very fair. Any dealer that has a few sitting there would be the most incented to make a reasonable deal. Nate was my sales guy and did a nice job for me.

It always amazes me you can have two dealers with in 80 miles of each other with such different sales policies and pricing.  Why would anybody pay the difference?  Me if it has a 5K over MSRP price, I'll look for a dealer that lists MSRP

I was recently in Patriot HD in Fairfax VA and they had several of each color, and at 120th RG Limited. I didn't start negotiating, but he said they started at MSRP.

Try asking if they  are a MSRP dealer.   If they dont wan t to answer, then they have market adjustments

I think a lot of the prices we see are set by the corporation that owns multiple stores.
There are still a few dealerships that are family owned and run, but they are a dying breed!

My last bike I bought from the GM of our dealership as he was one of the principals of the company and had more leeway with pricing.

It all boils down to supply and demand. If the bikes are sitting on the floor and not moving, prices will change!

They'd have to change an awful lot for me to buy one (as an Ultra man, I don't like the Road Glide anyway, but to each their own.)   But the current prices are sheer lunacy. Anyone who would pay over MSRP is likely to be a RUB who manages a couple of hundred miles a year, IMHO.  $6000 for a different paint job? Whaaaat?? $1200 for a mysterious "surcharge" and $850 freight?  Not included in MSRP to make it look less bad, of course.    And who on earth would buy the anniversary one, at the extra-eye-watering price?  117, not 121, old style headlight, older infotainment...   If I were the richest man in the world, I still would not pay these prices for a motorcycle, which, as we all know and accept is rarely completely reliable, with every new model having its faults (VVT seems to be no exception)  I could afford one, but under no circumstances would I buy one. Think of the fully loaded, reliable car, lacking the Chinese parts, that can be bought for the price!  Over here in the UK by the way, it's even worse - the CVO RG is US$49064 and if you want the whisky neat paint, that adds US$8095 at today's exchange rate.  And I know it's all even more expensive in other countries.  (Though in South Africa, for example, the bikes are way cheaper than even the US - that shows that Harley's plan is to milk the customer for what they think that that customer can afford, and the price has zero to do with what it costs them to make the bike.)   JMHO, but I think it's just wrong to encourage the rip off prices by buying them.

The owner of the dealership I use passed on a few years ago. One of the last of private one owner dealerships . I started going there in the mid 1960’s.
He had a little “riding group” that met up on Saturday or Sunday and would lead us on a nice ride through the backcountry.
I bought my 65 pan from one of the members in 1971. I bought many of my bikes from him over the years. He retired and sold out to a car dealer who had 3 or 4 Harley shops. It was the start of this store changing hands every few years, being bought up by larger and bigger corporations.
The building  is still on the same spot since the 50’s. It is bigger.
The staff seems to change every few weeks, always a new face.

I’m not a fan of a Harley shop being operated like a car dealership.
The group I ride with now is not a MC, but it is exclusive. I’m ok with that.

Latest offer on a 2023 CVO Road Glide - Platinum was $4k under MSRP.

The dealer said they are motivated by Motor Company offering to ship 2 new 2024 CVOs for every 2023 CVO sold.  That is definitely a good motivator

Closest dealer to me has 5 each Platinum RG and SG and a WN SG all at 7-10k over MSRP. Part of a 26 store conglomerate. Hope they choke on them.

Wow, that is nuts.  The 24's are out, I am guessing their pricing is why they have so many.

I just got one and Dealer here in Jersey took 5500 off MSRP - looking to get them out the door..
I can't see anyone asking for more than MSRP for a Last years left over.

My bet is the dealer is still making money or worst case braking even at that price.

I'm thinking the same thing.  Even at MSRP there's still a nice profit margin built in to that for the dealerships.  I remember the days when it was not uncommon to see them below MSRP if somebody just did a little research.

If I remember right, their profit margin used to be a little over 20% of msrp, harley squeezed the dealers a bit more last year and its probably around 18% now.

Using that the mark-up is between 17 and 18%.  That's a bit less than it use to be.  There should be plenty of profit in there.  Most dealers will find another 1K in profit before your out the door.
