Hello,
As an introduction to the CVO forum I wanted to say hello and introduce myself, and the new bike. This is my 5th Harley and as usual bought it on e-Bay, sight unseen! My 2nd and 3rd Harley was a purchase on e-Bay as well, sight unseen....a Softail Deluxe, and a Tri-Glide. This new to me 2012 Softail Convertible CVO, hopefully is the best one yet!
I had been looking for about 2 years for this bike, I did not want the brown/pewter color model, and focused my search on the blue or the red, and leaning more towards the red color, mainly because of the graphics. I'm not really into skulls, no matter how small and indiscreet. Thank God for computers! I had my search function set up for all, or most of the search engines, along with e-Bay, Search-Tempest.com, other riders, and just about most of the Harley and independent dealers....all on email notification. Last week I was checking e-Bay as usual, and a red CVO convertible was listed just an hour or so before, I hit the "buy it now" button as fast as I could.
After looking for just about 2 years, I felt like I knew what I wanted, along with knowledge of pricing, and any problems that I may encounter on that model.....I was ready!
Here was the deal......$16k cash, 4300 miles on the odometer, all CVO accessories included, a 2 into 1 aftermarket exhaust, always garaged and covered, does not need anything! Has some kind of a paint protectant on it, with absolutely no dings or dents of any kind....not even a scratch! The seller and I have talked many times, he has sent me pictures, videos, his original purchase offer, copy of title and etc. All again without me seeing or riding the bike (I know what a lot of you are thinking) this is my 3rd purchase from e-Bay.
Now comes the fun part.....I'm moving to Hawaii on May 2, the bike is being picked up in Chicago on April 12, I'm in Wilmington, NC....so I won't even see it for awhile, in fact my son may have to pick it up in Honolulu and get it to our new home for me.
I wanted this CVO for many reasons, a gift to my son when I no longer can ride, and then on to his son. Hopefully? or maybe this is the last of its kind that Harley will produce? AND I get to enjoy riding in Hawaii!!
Like so many others have mentioned before me "What a Deal"
