Samson slip-on VS Thunderheader slip-on
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:14:29 PM »

I'm trying to find out what would the best be for the bike(2004 RoadKing Classic) I have Vance and Hines slash cut slip-ons and I am thinking about putting on Thunderheader slip-on mufflers or the Samson slip-on mufflers.  The Vance and Hines slip-ons are just to quiet for me!!! Want something people are going to hear going down the road!!!!  I was told that the thunderheaders were the best for the bike and give the best increase of power.  I have read some reviews on here that said the Samson’s were better?  So I'm looking for some help.  Thanks

What bike is it you're putting this exhaust on?

I have used the Sampson Exhaust System and it will draw some attention and it can be loud
When I first bought Sampson Mufflers I like the round ovals on my 2000 RKC but I quickly decided to add the Sampson True Duals and the scooter sounded even better and really improved in performance. My only gripe with Sampson Dual Exhaust was the Heat Shields didn't cover some clearly visible spot of the pipes.

But to get back to your question - Yeah the Sampson Slip Ons will definitely set some car alarms off  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Sorry I am no help on the Thunderheader but I think it will Bark - pretty darn loud

Good Luck with your choice as I am a believer that Loud Pipes - Saves Life - (what he say)  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

A friend had the Sampson Rolled Thunder Slip-ons on his 2000 SERG and they sounded really nice. Can't speak of the Thunderheader Slip-ons, but if they are anything like there 2 into 1 they will be loud.

I would stay away from the TH slip ons. They are incredibly LOUD and they do not provide enough back pressure for the engine. If you want the TH go for the real thing and get the falsee to keep the dual look.

PS: Welcome to the site!

I have the Samson Caliber True Duels on my 07 SEUC, and they are load and do provide good back pressure. The Caliber is Samson's top of the line exhaust and they are a little narrower than the others.

07CVO

That is a sweet looking ride, I really like the way the Calibers make one long straight, uninterrupted shot to the back of the bike.  One would have to think that the design would decrease turbulence and increase flow, yeah, like I’m a flow engineer.

07,
How about posting some pics of your ride with all the additions over in the pictures section...we all like looking to see what people have put on, and then are very free to spend your money and tell you what else you need to add.  ;)
Cheers [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif],
