I installed the 12 insert and light on my 11.  At night when looking at it the light is brighter on one side of the emblem than the other.  Anyone else encountered that?  Maybe I dont have the insert positioned correctly.

I've done the same, and it is definitely brighter on one side then the other. Mines brighter on the left hand side, yours?

I just installed it on my bike and they are all the same due to the fact that all the LED Lights are just mounted to the top of the plug fixture (a round disk) and when lit, it illuminates the rest of the circle. All of the LEDs end up being on the left side of the emblem. The light is held in place by two screws and is position specific meaning you can only install it one way, thus the left is always going to be brighter than the right just by the design of it.

Wow, crazy to see so many comments about this particular assembly. Crazier to read about the lengths people went through to get their bikes "upgraded" from the painted version to the lit version. Let me tell you all, this particular assembly--every last bit of it--was the most challenging project ever to go through the company that I worked at. If something could go wrong, it did. Hell, I'm fairly convinced it helped push one man closer to the heart attack that ultimately killed him.

Does anyone want to trade an emaculate black dash w/o light for a chrome one with a light? I'm wanting to put the black on my '12 BLK & Slate and I am willing to trade my Chrome lighted dash. I'm also willing to trade out the fuel cap and gauge for black ones. PM me or post here.

Thank you,

Doc

It was a rainy day here in west central Florida so I finally finished my console light.  I had a stock 2012 light but I wasn't happy with the way it looked (lighting shaded uneven) and it wasn't GREEN!  It was really easy to do and came out GREAT!!!!
