H-D Transparent Saddlebag Lid Paint Guard Kit
« on: July 30, 2011, 09:07:02 AM »

FYI, I saw this in the current Easyrider mag listed as a new product. I just ordered it through my local dealer. It is less expensive then the motorcycle Armor and covers the sides of the lid. Has anyone tired this yet? I will let you all know how it goes once I get it and put it on.

This transparent skin is designed to protect your saddlebag lids from boot scuffs, road debris, keys and jacket zippers. The 4 pieces of crystal-clear material (2 per lid) protect the paint on your saddlebag lids without changing the overall look of your bike. Minor scuffs and scratches are disguised due to the optical properties of the material. The application process is similar to that of tinted window film, and the material can be removed and replaced when it is no longer cosmetically appealing.

I for one will certainly be interested in what it looks like installed and how it works for you.
I have ostio arthritis in both knees and it takes effort on my part everytime I get on or off my ride, not to touch the bag lids.

Cheers

Yes but the original HD Film will not void your warranty...  :huepfenjump3:

I have it on my 2012.  You wouldn't even know it was there unless I pointed it out to you.  Very happy with it.

We had a clear bra film put on the front of our Mercedes a few years ago. It was fairly expensive. When it was new it was virtually invisible, but when it aged it turned to crap. It became hazy and discolored and completely trashed the appearance of the car. We have since sold the car privately and the new owner was going to have it removed with a heat gun. I never heard how that worked out for him. I will never use that product again on any vehicles or bikes I own.

Just keep in mind that it's the future you need to think about, not the immediate appearance when it's new.
