Harley Gloss...
« on: October 30, 2011, 04:42:19 PM »

Over the years I've used the Harley Gloss sold at dealers. Anyone know if it's under a different label by those who make it for HD? Guessing it may be at my local auto parts store...

Or any suggestions for a similar product would be appreciated.

Chuck, at the suggestion of others on this forum, I went to the Honda (motorcycle) dealership and bought some of their spray cleaner/polish.  That stuff really does the job and easy to use wether it's cold out or hot out....doesn't seem to change it's ease of use or effectivness. :2vrolijk_21:

I use Glare for polishing the bike and sealing/protecting the paint.  For quick detailing/cleaning I have started using Griot's Garage Speed Wash and/or Speed Shine, depending on how dirty the bike gets and I can't do a real water wash.  And Griot's microfiber cloths are the best I've ever used, and I've tried a bunch of 'em.  Griot's Garage has everything for the anally retentive.

If you do the Glare thing, it's only a once a year deal, if that.  The stuff lasts, and a little goes a long way.  Makes the paint look an inch deep and wet all the time.  It is especially effective on darker colors. If you have swirl marks in the paint, they make products for that as well.  As CVO members, Glare gives us a discount on their products.  Look under Vendor Discounts.  Best stuff out there...period...and I've tried almost everything over the years...I threw it all away after I used Glare for the first time.  There's more reading here on Glare products/results than you'll ever want to read...lot's of people are converts.
