Been using the landscaping blower for years. No need to buy any special tool for drying the bike or the car. Find it to be a great way to get off most of the moister from all the nooks and crannies and eliminate some of the scratching of the clear coat from drying by hand...................

I have the Air Shammy and really like it. Leaf blowers suck in exhaust from itself, dust particles, etc. and blow it all over your freshly washed bike.

I agree i tried the leaf blower once , bad idea , it must at least be a new leaf blower or you will be sorry, my wife bought me a airforce blower the air heats up and it works great.

Have been doing it with my BR600, getting an Air Shammy. Much better way to dry them. The 600 is too strong, and ends up blowing all kinds of dust up too.

I recently purchased the Metro Air Force Blaster (4HP version) and I am extremely pleased with it. Today, I got caught in several thunderstorms while out riding. In the past, that would have meant that I would have spent most of tonight cleaning the bike to get ready for tomorrow's ride. I don't have to worry about it now. I just have to have an hour or so before I leave tomorrow to completely wash and dry the bike. It even dries the driveway at the same time. I can do a very quick walkaround of the bike to find the very few water spots that are remaining, and I do mean very few. If this Air Shammy is as good as the Metro, then it's a great deal at that price. I paid about $170 at Amazon and another $20+ dollars for wheels for the Metro. Don't expect to really feel the heat. It takes a good 5 minutes or so to warm up and the way you know it's heating is you can feel how warm the hose is getting. My guess is that if they really heated them up alot, you might as well just let your bike dry in the hot sun and deal with the water spots. If you do go with the 4HP Metro unit, get the wheels. It's very much worth it, although the unit is small enough to carry around in one hand while you direct the hose with the other. I had one of those driers that looked like an oversized hairdryer or undersized leaf blower in the past, with no heat, and there is a huge difference in results. When I move the bike into the garage, there are no miscellaneous drips from anywhere...if you did a good job blow drying it the first time. I have not been using a towel along with the dryer, so that may even be a way to speed things up even more. The best part is that my bike looks so great when I actually wash it with soap and water, rather than just wiping it all down with a spray cleaner. I have probably completely washed my bike more times in the past month or two than I would normally do in an entire riding season. It's just so much easier now. One last item is that if you do a really nice wax job on your bike, it makes it even easier to dry without spots. How's that for a glowing review of a product?

Shop Vac works fine too. The Air Shammy, Metro, etc heat comes from the air being pulled accross the motor windings, so it has to run a couple of minutes to start generating any heat...and we're not talking about hot air, just a few degrees more than ambient.

I used to use the Cycle Dryer (looks like a small leaf blower), and for the 30 bucks or so it cost, it worked OK, but the Air Shammy is much, much better.

Three good reaons not to use a regular type leaf blower: Picks up dust particles and blasts them onto the bike; the two stroke motor puts out some degree of funky exhaust that also is sucked into the intake side of the impeller; ever had one of the impellers self destruct? It would not be pretty for plastic bits to hit your bike's paint at 100mph...odds are it will neve happen, but if it did at the wrong time, it would be bad, very bad.

I use filtered water to do the last rinse on the bike, that way no stains

Ofcourse it is still wet so maybe a dryer would be a good addition

Been using my trusty Multi Use leaf blower for 20 + years... Does magic drying my bikes, I love it... For those that are claiming that the leaf blower is not working because they pick up and blow dust back onto the bike; I have to ask, are you drying your bikes parked in the dirt.

... Or unless your have an over extreme dusty driveway, I just don't see that happening.

I showed a friend my Master Blaster (no pun intended) a few weeks after I got it and he was going to get one. The following day I saw the Air Shammy on here and told him about it, so he ordered that instead and saved a few bucks. He had been using his leaf blower until he received his Air Shammy. I mentioned the recent posts on here about using a leaf blower. He told me that using the Air Shammy is a lot easier and better. The leaf blower moved the water around and didn't actually dry the bike as quickly as the Air Shammy and being able to concentrate the air has eliminated water hiding in places like the saddlebag latches, etc and a vast majority of the water spots are no longer there. My Master Blaster has had the same superior results compared to the Cycle Dry that I used to have before it died. Now, the two of us can see which one lasts the longest without problems.

If I recall, when I ordered mine, I told them I was a CVO Harley member and I got the more powerful model for the price of the standard model. It's got a slightly more powerful motor.

I went through two Cycle Dryers before I decided to buy something worth a chit.

The Air Shammy now comes in a PINK housing!

Finally got the opportunity to use mine (weather too lousy to wash the bike). Works as advertised - better than I thought it would! The free upgrade for CVO members is nice also!
