Title: Anybody try putting a fairing on a SE Roadking
Post by: jclark3 on July 06, 2015, 11:17:25 PM: Was wondering if i have to change the headlight nacele, or if someone makes a nice aftermarket fairing that fits a 2007 SE roadking.

Post by: pbulls on August 09, 2015, 10:00:39 PM: I have a 14 flhrse RK, went to Daytona Audio Center, located at Rossmyeres HD Daytona beach fl and had a fairing put on. It's a tight fit but no need to change the narcel. My only issue is there is more space between the narcel and the fairing than I like. When doing 100+ front end gets alittle light.

Looks great. I've just ordered a Memphis Shades detachable Batwing for mine. Will post some pics when it's painted.

Got any more pics you can send to me to help who ever I get to paint it Gandrtravis?

Post by: SERK3 on August 11, 2015, 08:31:00 AM: I have a 07 SERK, I went with Reckless Motorcycle Detachable Faring I have had it on the bike for about 5 yrs. memorial day week end I take a pretty bad spill, Bike slide appox. 90 ft. on the right side and up on the right front of faring, made a place about the size of a softball thru the paint and gel coat, No holes, needless to say after that I order another one.

Thanks for the pics...can you share one of the inside? Any issues getting the fairing on and off? I assume it mounts just like the stock windshield...correct? Thank you

Thanks Rob. Here is a pic of the inside. There is no stereo on this model but I went with the optional 3 pouch bag which makes it look a bit better in my opinion. I am on my way to Belgium for the weekend so will report back on wind protection. As I'm 6'2" I think the 5" windshield is a bit too short but I don't like the look of the really tall ones.

After doing about 1200 miles in Belgium and Holland, about half of which was motorways, I found the wind protection to be very good. It makes a big difference to shield your hands from the rain and also the wind protection on my chest and arms was very good. I do get a little buffeting of my helmet at high speeds so would probably benefit from a slightly taller or spoiler windshield but am going to stick with what I have for now.

Post by: Major Tom on November 04, 2015, 08:17:45 PM: I ran a Hoppe on my 99 (non-CVO) Roadking Classic in Oztralia for about 4 years before I sold the bike. It was easy to install and remove with a similar connection system to the removable screen they come with. It fit well and looked good. I particularly liked the stereo and the finish of the inside which I preferred to the plain fairing the other folks offered. It came with a couple different options for windshield in size and clear or not. Certainly worth a look IMHO.

Its really just kinda plain, but its almost as light as the windshield I had on previously due to the lack of the radio.
