I don't no how to take apart the running lights on the road king, I need to move them to the 2nd hole so I can put my new fairing on, any help wood be great thanks.

I ment to say passing lamps.

If the turn signals are below the passing lamps you must remove them first. After that you can look up inside and see the nut holding the lamp on. You will also see a wire running right through the middle of the bolt. They make a special socket that is cut out to do this job. But if you are careful you can remove it without one.

I didn't read the threads mentioned there, but I will assume that you will find that you can cut out an area on the side of the socket, the length of it, so that the wire can fit inside the socket and then you will be able to use that socket.  To buy the socket that will work was fairly expensive, if I remember correctly.

You are correct. The socket has one part of it cut out for the wire. I did buy mine but it is 25 years old and is made by snap on. The name alone scares you. But I needed it and the tool man had it. I think they are around 25 years.

I talked to the stone MT. dealer to day they said it takes 1 1/2 hours to do the job and $120 or so to do the job I belive I could do it in 45 min. with the right tool, so I am going to try.

Made my own as well. Much better than paying the big $$$.

I made my own today and took it all apart and got it moved to the second hole I put it all togather and 3 fuse's latter it works. I seemed to have frayed one of the wires so I put tape on it and closed it up and now it is working fine, what a pain in the a$$...........
