Q. On pots and pistons
« on: September 01, 2019, 07:29:22 AM »

These are up for sale a set 2000 miles on them add says for a 96 twin cam 1584

Q. Would they fit my 07 Ultra classic? Does the 110 use the same pot and pistons? Or is the bore smaller

Thanks for any input

Different parts altogether. 110 CVO pistons and barrels will not bolt on a stock block OEM 96" or 103". The case bore is larger on the 110". These pistons and barrels work on a stock block twin cam up to MY 2016. Not sure why anybody would buy them however. There are better alternatives and a 96" or 103" becomes a 107" with just a bore, hone and pistons.

Had to ask. I thought they wouldn't but wasn't sure. Didn't know the 103 barrel won't fit the 110 block "do now"
They're going for 100

Yes they will fit just not the other way, 110 on a 103. Problem is however when putting 103 jugs on a 110 case bore is base gaskets are needed to seal due to the smaller spigot diameter. Then the jugs should be trimmed or you lose compression because of the added deck height. Some just use Hylomar or Loctite 518 and no gasket or oring.

Okay, I got what you're saying now Thanks.  I misunderstood your first post. Would  I be correct in saying that the 110 case is the same case as the 103 but has been machine out to accommodate the 110s 4" bore and they did away with the gasket that's used on the 103 to an "0" ring in the 110 to gain added compression.

Almost. The 103 and 110 are machines for orings, just a bigger spigot hole and oring groove on the 110. When using the smaller cylinders on the larger engine gaskets become needed and the orings are not used. It is a rare combination, going smaller?

Thanks for the input  HD,

You're right wouldn't think one would go smaller.  I just popped the Question out there cause they were going for a good price and didn't know if they'd be of any use to have for spare parts.
