ood luck on the water, sometimes water companies don't change out their filters like they should. Bells IPA sounds good! Brewed an IPA today & my last airlock broke. Glued it together, seems to be ok. Have an order on the way already from Northern Brewer.
I know some brewers (yours truly too) that use a sanitized piece of foil over the top during fermentation. Just fold it into a square, spritz the contact side with no rinse Starsan and fold it over the top of the carboy tight. CO2 gets out, nasties can't get in. If you use buckets, I've seen brewers with decades of experience plug the airlock hole and just lay the lid loose on the top.
