Anyone have any experience with this head pipe?  Give a true dual look while still having a crossover in the head pipe.  Not a part I've ever messed with but have someone offering a new set they never used.

Hoping someone can speak to fit, mount, proximity to oil pan or anything other I'm not considering if they have experience.  Have been thinking about putting duals on the Road King for awhile now and a really inexpensive head pipe might move the decision along.

Thanks.

And, yes, I've read S&S's instruction sheet.  Have reviewed their pictures.  Just hoping someone might have perceptions based on use in the field.

Don;
We have sold and installed several. Fit and finish is good.

I have one. The fit and finish is very good. You’ll need footboard spacers for clearance for the front pipe. They aren’t included with the pipe

Bike already has spacers on the front boards so I'm good there.  How close does the rear pipe ride to the oil pan on yours?  Couple of pics I found showed almost no clearance while a couple others showed plenty.

The rear pipe is about 3/4” from the transmission side cover and goes straight back on the right side. The front pipe crosses over to the left side and is supported by a bracket that bolts to the transmission. There is a notch in the crossover pipe for clearance to the rear edge of the oil pan. The brackets are slotted so the clearance of the crossover pipe to the oil pan has some adjustment

Thanks.  Appreciate the hands-on guidance.  It's a part I've never seen in person before.

Just put one on my 03 se road king. Everything went together well.  Fit and finish are good. My only gripe is, that I wish the chrome cover for the left side went farther under the bike. Other than that, they are great.
Remember to re-torque the flange nuts at the exhaust ports, after you run it.

Put one on a buddies 08 SG. Great fit and finish with zero negative issues. Waaay less heat directed at you and your BSR's legs and feet.

Combining what's been written here and what a few others have forwarded in PM or email it's all good things about this pipe.  To my knowledge I'd never actually seen one in person though so thanks again to all who responded with first hand insights.

Now I've just got to make a quickie road trip.  The pipes were offered free but I paid shipping.  Seems a far better solution to make a couple hour drive and buy the beverages while I'm there for the gift :drink: .

Finally got all the parts here a couple weeks ago.  The pipes were expensive.  Two beers, really good burgers, onion rings, fries and potato skins; and round trip fuel (and a really fun day).  Need to buy parts like that more often  :drink: .

Everything installed a couple days ago.  With the slip ons off the CVO Street Glide and the Powertune duals my first reaction was to just how incredibly quiet compared to the old Fatcats that came off.  Quickly came to like it.  Can hear mechanicals, engine sounds, all kinds of things never did before.  300-ish miles on the new exhaust so far and have gotten used to it and like it a lot.

An unexpected benefit is riders comfort.  Pipes are nowhere near my legs now.  The bowlegged straddle required of the right leg by the FatCats is a thing of the past.  Can stand with a normal posture on the saddle and don't come close to the pipes.  I'm a fan; and I really like the look of the duals tucked inside the extended saddlebags.  It's all symmetric again!

Now just finish the job with a proper tune— you’ll be glad you did!

As good as it's going to get that is in process each time I ride.  Have the EMS from Revolution Performance on both the Road King and the Road Glide.  Did dial the O2 sensors back in after the install.  I know their system never took off commercially and the company no longer offers.  But (at least in my experience) it works surprisingly well.  Have had both bikes on dyno just for comparative runs in the past and both were where I expected them to be or better and with good AFR lines.

I have the same problem with the Boarzilla. D&D followed Drago and tucked that rear pipe in now so guess we bought our pipes to early. I have the burn scars on back of right leg from it as well.

Me too.  Hard to avoid.  The Road Glide had FatCat on it also.  It's been there even longer.  To this day will still occasionally get me.  Have a set of Supertrapp Supermeg 2-1 to go on that one when there's time to do some other work.  Have been told that one gives more room also.  I hope so.....
