I got to that point sometime between 2012 and 2020....I guess that's why the '12 was replaced with a non-CVO bike. Now....that same sentiment seems to be developing about Harley in general.....next bike will be a ??
It's why I haven't replaced my 2014 FLHTKSE. I had new bikes in 2001 (Sporty), 2002 (100th Anniversary Glide), 2005 (103 CVO Glide), 2006 (Jester), 2009 (110 CVO Glide), and 2014 (FLHTKSE). By that time the price was getting silly - I could buy a high spec CAR for the same money, or less, and it wouldn't have had the same quality and reliability problems, nor would it need a fortune of silly prices spent on P&A. (And a car manufacturer wouldn't get away with 90% of water pumps failing at under 20,000 miles!) This latest plan of theirs where they want to charge thousands extra for paint is breathtaking in its arrogance and stupidity. A new CVO Road Glide here (with the paint) is now £42495 (!) with less in the way of extras on it each year. I can buy a BMW 240i Msport coupé for £36010 (and there are plenty of discounts available on those too!) Decent warranty, and unlikely to break down in a few thousand miles.
Anyone who pays £42495 (US$53500) for a Harley is in need of serious mental health therapy in my opinion. But people do, got to show off how wealthy they are....
