Zippers Air Cleaner kit
« on: May 31, 2007, 02:40:56 PM »

When I bought the Redshift 575's for my bike, I also got the air cleaner kit. This was last summer. Since then, I've broken 4 mounting studs in the throttle body. The guys at Zippers sent out stainless steel to replace the old studs, but one of those busted the other day. Unfortunately, all I had to replace it with was the old style, and it broke on my ride in this morning.

The last break also messed up the mounting plate and I had to use a washer to mount the bolts onto the filter.

I called Zippers yesterday and spoke to a customer service rep who will send me out the new studs. I asked if he could think of a reason this keeps happening, and he mentioned a loose motor mount. Looks to me that since the air cleaner moves with the engine, that wouldn't be an issue.

Has anyone else had these issues, and if so, what was the fix??

Thanks in advance for any help.
